Actually Id rather play Neowave than 2k2. I personally HATE max mode and 2k2 has too many fucked up hitboxes. Neowave seems more polished to me in that aspect. I have no access to 2k2 and im not playing that on DC or PS2 so 2k2 is the logical choice. The there any adapters for xbox that lets use use ps1 controllers without any lag?

its cool, i just never liked the unresponsive controls, and the way they split up gameplay into 3 grooves. its alright but, could have been better.
I have the J- Ps2 version.
as for 2k2, dont get the wrong idea, some max combos do take some time and practice to pull off consistently. it can go from easy to 100% combo:wasted: but thats the beatuty of it.
and you are right 98 is pretty much top in my book.

About the controls…guys I hated the unresponsive controls UNTIL I GOT A SATURN PS2 PAD.
Now It feels like KOFXI and every KOF feels the same control-wise…making me fall in love with NeoWave all over again!! :lovin:
Also about the unresponsive controls…US likes NW better because the controls are 10x worse in PS2/XBOX 2k2 than in PS2/XBOX NeoWave!!
The Dark Geese Young Geese Primer Part I:
-Deadly Rave is the best super in the game hands down. Why? I’ve said this before:
#1- Invincibility frames throughout the entire super evenon the back frames.
#2- Distance.
#3- Stops people from jumping (anti air) stops people from throwing fireballs, stops people from spamming shit, makes them turtle and play tactical.
#4- If they get into patterns they are fucked. I play Young Geese loking for patterns, contrary to popular belief I do not spam DR. I look for openings and anticipate when you will attack.
- Command and regular grabs beat DR…but you still have to anticipate it. All this for a LEVEL ONE SUPER.
- St CD is the best Ground CD in the game. Mad distance, beats soo much shit, ad priority.
-Air CD is dope as well…best AIR CD in the game.
-F+b is decent as a poke, can cancel into reppuken.
-hcf+k is relatively safe blocked…use it sporadically and to end comboes.
-Geese is not combo friendly. He’s basic but has some good high damage comboes.
-Avoid Raising Storm at all costs. Horrible super (Grab super), has no range, not worth the damage. Use DR for all your meter.
-The DG Groove for Young Geese is S-Groove. 3 Supers is available for maximum DR punishment. MAX2 is the JAP DR Groove of choice. Not as deadly but makes up for it with hte damage increase from the Groove.
-Geeses Slide is very very good…(df+b) but beware…certain things can punish it!

Well overall Thai based off what I have seen in general from the US…they know more about NeoWave than 2k2 and 2k2 gets a WORSE rep than NeoWave by far…
When truth is that the PS2/XBOX port is very shitty and the arcade version is very very good for controls…
But that takes emulation to see for yourself…where you got a copy of NeoWave just wating…

While some Americans do enjoy 2k2…I have found out the majority do not like it…reasons being stiff controls…Which goes back to the PORT issue…

well i was speaking of 2002 Arcade MVS version in the first place, the other ones are just shitty ports. Neowave aint that bad i suppose ill give it a shot.
The Arcade port of NW is better also…but not by too much they at least got the controls better or at least CLOSER to the arcade…not as easy…
I dont think the observation made by Dark is is biased at all. I dont really see the hate for neowave. Most countires just didnt get it. Most people dont have the option to play it here and ive seen more tournies and tal about neowave recently.

man the Saturn PS2 pad is INSANELY hard to find…I had to have a friend of mine hunt it down in the WTB section…
I have two now…and its the best thing thats happened to me gamewise.
He’s right…most countries havent gotten access to a NW Cab at all…like I say the ones I was playing with actually enjoyed it…these are the same that liked NGBC, SST and others that they havent gotten access to as well.

For PS2 to XBOX I use X-Joybox…NO LAG whatsoever. About to record some NW matches in a few just got done recording RBS casuals.

Exactly how different are the Neowave versions of Angel and May Lee from their normal 2k2 versions? What still works and what doesn’t? I have the Xbox version of 2k2 and Neowave, I want to know if practicing these characters in 2k2 will be sufficient for playing Neowave.
Mainly in regards to Angel and May Lee the biggest thing besides overall damage being toned down for everyone is the lack of priority on some things.
Overall if you are an Angel/May Lee master it wont affect you that much. Practicing them on 2k2 is sufficient…its the same…they havent gained any new moves etc…just know how things are broken up according to the system like Angels HSDM counter is her MAX2 Super etc in NeoWave…know these things…
If you have the XBOX version of NeoWave of course you know Angel and May Lee aren’t on it…
The PS2 Version is the Ultimate Version of NeoWave. Angel is still S Class and so is May Lee in NeoWave however they still aint the best in the game…top three is still Choi, Geese, Saisyu.
Angel has a hard time vs. Saisyu as does May Lee also so matchups are a little different in NeoWave vs. 2k2. Have you seen my Angel Guide thing I have on youtube???
Saisyu’s normals are better than Angels so he gives her a hard time.
