Yes please keep me updated on when you decide to show these vids…that could keep this thread floating like the NGBC one…now when I get my camera I will post some of mine between some Denton Crew and Unblockable members…
Speaking on which AA_Overmind hows the rapage with Athena coming in NGBC??
Does anyone think Angel/May Lee are better in this game or worse than their 2k2 counterparts? Any noticable differences??? Only for those that play them only!!!
Is it me or is Kim a lot more beefed up in Neowave than compared to 02. YOu know with the different gauges and all. The drawback to the gauges is that you can’t Roll and Point-Blank Phoenix Kick.
He surely is better in NW than in 2k2…surely…no question asked…its like he is getting ready for his NGBC counterpart…there are combos he can do in NW in SC mode that he cant do in 2k2…its great…then do you think MAX2 Kim is worth it?
i agree with you about kim being better in NW, but his 2k2 form does have benefits over NW. first of all, he can bc the overhead and combo after it easily. second, stomp bug is much better in 2k2 cause you dont get pushed back that much, and this is important because of its use in high level play(see any video with Abraham).
but then again, NW kim does stupidly easy damage.
stand C, qcb+D, qcf qcf D, hcb f+D is one of the easiest damaging combos in the game(imo). you’re left with less than 20% health after it, and will probably kill with IHA in between the supers.
Yeah and with Heat damage activated that just kills even more…really easy damage with Kim…
Yeah overhead into anthing works great and also because of the BC cancel in 2k2 it makes almost anything very good to do.
Pretty good
But I don’t have anyone to play NGBC against, all the players that used to play it don’t play it anymore:sad:
God I hate fucking shitty-ass Microsoft!!!
I know the feeling man…I gotta hunt down whoever is left to play the game…
Because I’m still only getting leagues better at the game…The game still has stuff to discover…
As you probably have seen with the Athena stuff.
I’m borderline discovering something else uber-evil :badboy: in both NeoWave and NGBC…I’ll keep you posted my friend!
Keep repping the Athena love…keep the beasting…because what they don’t know WILL HURT THEM…hehehe :badboy:
So no other Angel/Maylee users???
Man because I’m discovering some retarded stuff with Angel in Heat Mode…both her and May Lee…
Its really sick stuff…
And that corner infinite with Rugal is just a semi…after the 3rd rep you will get pushed back too far to continue…
Yoshi, any luck with those new Geese combos I posted???
Okay now let’s play matchup analysis…
I will throw a matchup out there…lets debate the hell out of it…
This way we see how others play and what they think…
1st Matchup:
Vanessa vs. Jhun…Who wins and why??? And if Jhun wins how can Vanessa win?? Both excel in the corner…so lets debate this matchup both ways…
2nd matchup:
Vanessa vs. Shingo- I think with the exception of his LDM I like NW Shingo a lot better. He has better high-low-com grab mixup options. And I have seen vids of a Shingo getting perfects on Vanessa…which peaks my curiosity about this matchup…
Yes I will keep this thread alive…see avatar…
Depending on the gauge, The match between Vanessa and Shingo can go both ways.
Personally, I see Shingo at his best on max2. The fact that he has his mega damage 2k1 Burning Shingo as his Max2 is a bit of a let down, but it does make sense. Anywho Shingo can rip vanessa to shreds…
IF SHE IS NOT ON S.CANCEL GAUGE. Vanessa is a serial rapist on S.Cancel gauge. So Shingo has an advantage if Vanessa is not on S. Cancel. That’s my thought. Take this into consideration.
Yeah true because Shingo doesnt necessarily need a roll…esp since I believe in this gamehe has his command roll.
Yes Vanessa is super deadly in SC groove…
Shingo just has to play it very careful for this matchup…
But so does Vanessa…he surely has the tools to make Vanessa run for cover or fear to get in.
If someone is playing Vanessa on anything else then they are going back to 2000 style Vanessa…she was built in this game for SC Groove.
What about this matchup-
Jhun has this win. The fact that he has the SC groove to break Vanessa’s guard in the corner with his A stance and s.cancel to the Jhun talon tear. that and the sand attack which covers his ass constantly. Jhun hands down.
Okay now we are havnig fun…
Okay next question…
So then even with SC mode Vanessa loses eh? What does Vanessa have to do to win this battle?
Next matchup-
Expert May Lee vs. Daimon-
Yes this one is a toughie.
And another matchup-Yuri vs. Daimon
NW tournament vids from March of this year-

Good Chris/Maxima/Andy and good Shingo!

Another one with Vanessa, Saisyu, Kim…a beast team!
Look at the Vanessa vs. Shingo matchup here…pure pwnage by Shingo agreed??? PERFECT!!!
Shingo pwnage all the way around…Yes Shingo is better in NW than in XI…this is all the proof I need…
Some practical Heat Mastery combos:

Angel/May Lee diffs in NW…
I played some with May Lee and Angel thoroughly yesterday and have noticed that they have been toned down as well…some moves where they yield major priority have been nerfed…
And I think though they could be God Tier in a masters hands in NeoWave as well but they have a very hard time against Saisyu, Geese, and Jhun…the S Class poses them a very difficult problem…
Esp Geese and Saisyu…many of their Kara String Attacks and other things you see in the Mexican 2k2 vids only get snuffed out by Saisyu with ease in NW…
I’ve seen it first hand… Angels Kara string to her dodge forward or back like you see in the 2k2 vids can easily be snuffed out…and even her Cr.Cxxdf+Bxx UP+C anti air exclusive combo against Saisyu you can’t even begin to land it due to the fact that his HH normals snuff out almost everything…
Yeah its sad…
I will continue to post further findings…I personally find May Lee to be more fun than Angel…
Its easier to return to neutral with May Lee by canceling all of her normals even CD Attack to her other stance…
Then of course the gold- in Hero stance doing the CD attack which is an Unblockable and Cancelling it if it seems like it isnt gonna hit by going back to her original stance…
Too Good.
But yeah she cant even use her Counter as an AA against people like Saisyu etc because they just snuff them out with ease.
But with May Lee etc all the combos work like in the corner Close St. DxxHero Stance down+C uppercut…TK air super or…return to start stance and then go into her qcf+kick series and finish with the up flip kick finishers…
All that stuff still works…but with May Lee because in HERO stance you cannot block against certain people like Saisyu and all in MAX2 you wanna be very careful…because they do not take damage well as a whole…
And a couple of hits from Saisyu or a MAX2 character or combined is just deadly as a whole…game over…the MAX2 makes it where IMO the normal damage of everything in 2k2 in combination with HEAT is back to how it was. Because I compared 2k2 damage to MAX2 damage and it was the same…and then MAX2 damage in combination with HEAT was just INSANITY!!!
May Lee and Angel may just be best in MAX2…something to think about, make every hit count!!! :nunchuck:
Because with those two you do not need to roll much at all…they have too many options to punish opponents with!
Daimon might have the advantage… IF HE CAN TIME MAY’S ATTACKS RIGHT! Hi can counter like mad.
Yuri has the speed and combo capacity to shut daimon down. next!
Yeah but Yuri cannot be hit in this matchup or its game over!!! In order for Yuri to win this matchup she cannot HH/jump alot…and she must play keepaway…a couple of hits and she’s through!!!
Yeah Daimon’s Counters could do it in for this one!!! But he’s guessing…because May Lee has too many options to throw at him…plus the advantage for May Lee is that she can cancel anything she does almost making Daimon whiff a counter with ease! That could do Daimon in!!!
Next matchups-
#1 SC Kim vs. Jhun…
**#2-Jhun vs. Saisyu
#3-Geese vs. Jhun
#4-Angel vs. May Lee
#5-Maxima vs. Daimon
#6- Chris vs. Vanessa**
Bump…RogueYoshi…you there?? You tried any of those Geese combos I listed??ve
Anyone have any luck with the May Lee combos I listed???
Anybody still playing??? Sweet Tooth need some Iori/Mature/Vice stuff??
yeah, ive used them in matches to good extent, especially the stand B, df C, explosion ball combo. its good for mindgames after a empty hop.
Excellent…well hey man I’m gonna try my best to be at NEC in December so you should go so we can try to get some good SST/NW/XI in…and then we can post the matches or something on this thread…
I want to make love to Andy
