I saw some players doing it, I think it might.
fuck, i wish they would take that out. thats such a bullshit glitch/feature.
he does not really need that, to me choi FINALLY has the buff he needed which he has in UM, which is finally having a move to combo into other than his super, i’m loving how his d,u+C now hits them like it did in 96
I’m loving Mr big anybody else feeling the pimp with sticks? Also i do belive his DP does have autoguard on it to which is a bonus
IOh yeah one other thing what happend to EX kyos voice i thought it was ment to be similer to his 95 voice it sounds like it’s his normal voice to me
BTW a couple Mary changes I noticed; her close C seems to recover faster (so you don’t get punished by Iori on block, and f+A done by itself recovers MUCH faster, probably safe. For EX Mary (maybe both), it slams them to the ground and you can combo the stomp with EX Mary.
I’m hoping that you can use Escalation mid-combo. It might be possible as it looks like it recovers very fast (almost like a roman cancel).
Krauser and Iori might be too powerful. For sure, they’re getting picked often. I’m getting sick of seeing them already.
I just wanna see some Eiji. Aside from shoulder cam early loketest vids, no one is using him in these new Korean ones aside from one match but he doesn’t do much.
Haven’t seen the autoguard but the DP is at least pretty good, people were using it on wakeup successfully. He’s got a command grab too. I just wonder how good his lariat is gonna be, especially in the context of kof.
double fuckin post

At the end of this vid, Iori hits with close C, cancels into a dodge, and the dodge attack combos. He does A rekkas after, which whiff, but C would’ve connected.
So dodge just got a definite leg-up on roll. Dodge cancel is CD counter bait + combo all in one. I’m calling Ultimate adv/dodge/run as the config of choice.
that is so god damned filthy!!! Iori is such a monster no matter what subsystems are in place!!!
Crackfiend edit - its official, this game is crack and i need my hourly fix!
He can combo d, u + C in regular 98 too.
I don’t know, you can easily hit confirm cC and its way more reaction reliable as an outside pressure when moving away… Its hard to believe that 80% of said players hit confirm from sA. cB, sA seems more viable for confirmation, as you’d get two actions. I’d say a good amount of these players just guessing super after. If its a true confirm, thats insane reaction, but meeting a player who’s attained that reaction is in my own experience incredibly rare, if any at all.
Alt geese double shippuken is worrying me, but we’ll see long term how it effects the game.
Iori is still really good, I think he may even be better then before, but I gotta play it more first. I may be wrong, but it seems like its harder to detect if his jB is gonna be in front of you, or you’re gonna get a cx Bb with rush down. Was there a change made with this?
Mary is getting a lot of attention to. =)
The longer damage is excellent, because it allows for players to adapt quicker and gain a better understanding of reptitions in someone game to feed upon.
Over all, I am very happy Krauser got some worthy treatment. Hes my favorite SNK character and hes gonna be one of my mains for sure.
Also his ranbu type super has hella air confirm. I’m gonna abuse this. He has amazing pressure safety also, its at a stupid level at this point. Crouch tapping pressure, then fake outs to grabs, and it seems like the best action after any knockdown is tag wake up’s with a low blitz ball. God I’m loving this game.
One question that is bugging me though, In one instance of this video (6:52)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=dtGEApA1Ka0
Krauser does what looks to be his 96 sCD attack, but he somehow links it to grab. Or is this just some RH swap?
I agree with everything you just said… st.a is hard a s fuck to confirm and I’ve seen it miss unless the person is open thus it seems like guessing.
Yeah he could combo it in normal 98, but it was pretty useless, it always pushes them away for minimal damage, if i remember correctly it only does like 2 hits unless they’re near the corner making it too situational.
But now no matter where you are rather than pushing you away it now sucks you in just like 96, but of course not as ridiculous as 96 damage wise, but it still took ok damage.
As for mr big, as you know he’s based off of his 96 model not his ngbc model so that spinning move is shit, it does not have lariet like propertys in um, it only moves forward and it hits multiple times, as you’ve probably seen it whiffs ALOT, in fact i’ve never seen it hit anybody so far that’s how usless it is.
i’ve seen quite a few eijis, at first i thought he was shit he seemed slow his moves seemed quite slow and lacking priority, but i did see one guy using him really well using him defensively.
His QCB+P seemed to stop people in there tracks really well especially in the air, his air projectile seemed to really be annoying to, i still think he’s gonna struggle
Also for anybody actually playing the game can somebody test if krauser has a unblockable fireball glitch, i see one video where he does one and rather use a whiffed command throw to try to make it unblockable he uses his counter, i dont know the command for it, and i dont know if it makes his fireball unblockable but that’s what i saw, whever the guy made an attempt to block it or not i dont know, but i thought it was worth mentioning.
and what is the deal with geeses double air shipuken? how comes at times rather than falling back after he does them sometimes i see him move forward?
When i first see that geese had double air shippuken i was worried, i think alot of people were, but from what i have seen, my worries are over, they’re as slow as fuck you can see them coming a mile away and react accordingly, yeah they do great damage but i think the risk does not outweigh the reward
Hm, you are right about that. Still, I don’t think that’s enough to make him really good. His chipping ball in '98 is pretty useless. Giving him its 2k2 properties would be pretty good IMO.
As for Krauser, yes, he has the fireball glitch. I saw him pulling it off in several vids.
I think with Geeses Double Shippuken (EX) it probably has to do with what button the person is using… one probably falls back and the other forward…
Btw, Choi cannot cancel far A into DM in kof98. He can do it in 2k2 though. In 98 you can do something like crouch B, crouch A, far B, DM I believe…you can also do something like crouch C, f+B, DM, which is a link.
You sure? I couldve sworn I’ve seen it in vids plus I even saw it in 98UM in the Answers loke test vids…Hector was playing Choi and off far st.a he’d combo into super…
Do you all think Iori-Krauser-Choi is gonna be the new dominant 98UM team?
Maybe its close a I’m thinking since they do look pretty similar… (Far st.a and close st. a)
Maybe in UM but not in 98.
Iori, Krauser and someone else…don’t think it will be Choi. Mary is looking quite good now. I liked Big, from what I saw.
Yeah I agree Mary is looking damn good… Big is looking good too…thank god not his NGBC self…a pumped up 96 version.
Quick question. Does anyone have info on whether the input strictness of the original KoF98 have relaxed a bit? I love KoF98, but after getting used to the relative ease of controls of XI, I’m finding it harder to switch back.
Any word on how good goenitz, daimon, or yama is looking?
