Why are they taking so long to release this game? I heard that the PS2 version has been completed a long time ago. What on earth are they waiting for?!? For the jpn arcade release to make some revenue first?
When is THAT allegedly coming out? And why do I only see 95, 96, and 97 in that collection? What is this “98” you speak of?
it was announced in the gdc vid
Well excuse me for being retarded:confused:but for real I thought thats how they do things…oh well…I know it better come to the states I know that!!! Why is it coming out Q4 2008 though? It should come out in the summertime since thats usually a drought for new games anyway:wgrin:
If 98UM isnt out by the time of EVO East then yes…this is the version that will be used.
Any of you guys playing 98 on ggpo? I’m still learning since I don’t have anyone to play with ever since I moved, but I go by ZeroZone if you don’t mind playing someone still new to the game. (Relatively.)
Which version are you talking about?
JPN version of Orochi Collection doesn’t have 98 in it afaik, and US version of Orochi Collection isn’t supposed to be out until the end of the year.
I was really excited when I saw the video of the SNK guy talking about upcoming US releases and confirming that KOF Orochi, KOF98UM, & SS Collection are coming out over here. I’m wondering if they’ll release KOF Nests Collection over here at some point. Considering they’re adding 94 & 98 to the US port of Orochi Collection, I think it would be a great idea to include arcade perfect KOF 2002 in the US version of Nests Collection.
SNK JPN needs to stop torturing us and give a confirmation on the release date for the PS2 version of KOF98UM. I just can’t wait to play that game.
Improbable, since 2k2 had already been released bundled… and I hate 2k2 anyway:rofl:
my comp chokes on ggpo and fba tends to have a bit of slowdown on it, think p2p in mame 064 would be a possibility instead?
Who knows…
KOF 2000 & 2001 had been released as separate games in Japan, yet they still made a collection which included both games. Same deal with SS Tenka.
KOF94 is going to be in the SNK Arcade Classics Collection, KOF98UM will have original KOF98, still both KOF 94 & 98 will be included in the US version of Orochi Collection.
Metal Slug 4 & 5 had already been released in US, yet they included both games in the MS Anthology.
I guess we just have to hope for the best.
KOF Rebout really should’ve been in US Orochi Collection. I know it’s not the greatest thing, but it was never brought over here and I imagine wouldn’t take that much effort to add, given that they did the same thing with another PS2 port (not ROM) for Metal Slug 6 in MS Anthology.
fuck yea, 98 was my favorite by far! SNK WILL RELEASE TO US, SNK GIVES TO THEIR FANS ALOT. PHO SHO~!
KoF 98 UM & SS: Edge of Destiny loc test at FFA in Granada Hills, CA
94 Rebout contains a lot of content. It should really be a stand alone release. The only thing is the fighting was a little stiff in 94, and not a lot of moves. Not everyone would like it. But graphics and backgrounds are redone completely and the game looks 10 times better than the 95-97. I don’t think it would mix. Just a guess, but it may not even fit on the disc with the Orochi collection.
Don’t know what they plan on doing with it though… Maybe next year, if the 98 remake is successful in the US, maybe they’ll port Rebout. Would be shitty if they never do, but I imported it so I’m good.
Seeing how SNK and the Western market still have a rather strained relationship, I still can’t imagine SNK USA going through the trouble of porting ReBout in any form or fashion. If they didn’t do it by now, or have any announced plans for the immediate future, I just don’t count on it.
After all, what SNK is doing now is to largely cash in on their classics that they know will sell. But after that, operations will largely shift towards supporting the new content that they stand to have come out by the end of this year or the beginning of the next, including the likes of SS SEN(Edge of Destiny) and the highly-vaunted KOF XII.
By that point, the popular consensus won’t even care about the likes of KOF 94 Rebout, because they’ll have XII smiling up in their faces.
Holy fucking shit! There’s no way I could make it to that, but simply the fact that they’re doing something like this in the USA is phenomenal.
OK, if anyone is making test, can you test the fireball bug- particularly the Krauser Kaiser wave variant that should exist if it’s still in the game?
How does the bug work exactly? I’ll gladly test things people want tested out.
If you whiff a command grab at the same time as your opponent would block a fireball, the fireball is unblockable.
Iori also has a different fireball unblockable he can do on many characters, but the most practical way to test it is to do his Maiden Masher super on Kensou or Brian, then do an A fireball immediately after (don’t perform any moves before the fireball hits or it doesn’t work).
