From the looks of that video- Goenitz does an insane amount of damage.

That was a pretty swank preview, lost of interesting little changes to discover between modes. I also loved the “SOUND SETTING” was something worthy of pointing out explicitly, haha.

One question, though: Does anyone know what the difference in the two streams starting at 0:30 is? Kyo does dwn A, dwn C -> it combos in the upper-left vid…does it not in the lower-right? Just curious what the split is trying to show.

It’s probably nothing, could be a timing change how certain things link, maybe extra mode has chains rather than links i dont know, looks like there is a combo exibition in gallery mode, should be interesting.
Loving the inclusin of 96 stages, i hope they have the 96 AOF stage that would make me a happy camper, what with 98 on ggppo and um and um at sbo, looks like good times ahead

The sunset train tracks? It looked nice, but the 95 stage, I feel, was done better.

Strictly speaking just for the presentation, I’m a little… well, not disappointed, because I knew anyway that the new SNK doesn’t know how to animate hit effects, but I think compared to old style kof the moves don’t look like they hurt. I mean, how hard is shaking the screen when the character is knocked down? Plus the characters look tiny as hell, like post-NESTS KoF.

I want Iori’s team stage and ikari if we’re having KOF 96 stages

Note the activation of the maxmode meter in the upper left one. Not sure what it’s trying to say besides that maybe if your fills up your maxmode meter to the end and activates maxmode, the recovery will be smaller and thus you will be able to perform that combo?

That’s why I have trouble getting into the new games. There’s no emphasis on any impacts or ko’s or anything.

its like max activation in KOF 2k2, when canceling into max mode by pressing abc it shortens your recovery allowing for bigger combos.

so im guessing to do something like st C, f+A, GC Roll, st C, f+A xx Super or something…where the GC Roll (which is not a GC in this case but an AC or Attack Cancel as i will call it) will help extend combos

sorta… but it only happens from activating max mode after Extra Bar has filled. And you use ABC. Though apparently you can cancel into dodges too and dodges recover pretty fast so you may be able to do some silly combos with that.
