Got here stupid early because I wasn’t really sure where I was going. Starts @ noon yea?
Supposedly. But usually people show up at 12:30-1:00 earliest. Usually. Sometimes right at noon, sometimes later. =/
I still need to find my way down there with my entire set up. Shit.
Wait never mind. I’ll be down there in about half an hour or so.
dennis dropped me a message and wants to come too, anyone online know if that’s alrite?
Thanks to Lex and Brian for hosting the big serving of humble pie. Looking forward to seconds next week! The damage from online ranked is worse than I had feared, hopefully a few of us can hook up online for some endless during the week.
Good to meet everyone, I’ll try to do a better job of introducing myself next Sunday.

Its come to my attention that we really only have 2-3 monitors every week, so i was wondering if it’d be cool with everyone, if everyone is willing to chip in 5-10 bux, we can easily get another one, if not then we’ll wait until the next tournament before we can get another monitor.
i’ll pitch in for another monitor
as someone who has been to the dojo since day one
i just want to say, it would be nice to always be able to walk to a place like the dojo
and have this venue to play and interact with everyone else
but in order to do this we have to actually buy equipment
many of you may think of the dojo differently, some of you take it more seriously
but like seriously, if you see yourself playing street fighter as something you’d take as more than "just a hobby"
then you’ll be here for a while, we’ll see to that
but we all have to make sacrifices, or just pitch in when we need to
and that’s why i’m putting down 100$ for a new monitor. and seriously, if it’s come to that we can’t even raise the money for monitors that people are bringing systems for, then i’m willing to pay for one that everyone at the dojo can use.
take this as a reminder that people like lex take it upon themselves to be there to let us play in his business, not his own home, his business. then think about how we all feel when we show up and there’s no monitors there.
bad vibes man
im just trying to do what i think is right for all of us, seeing how so much has been provided to me, in terms of players, venue, knowledge of the game from others in the community. i’m just giving back because its been good times in this one year and i want people to be able to have these sort of times, and not have them because we couldn’t have enough monitors and systems. it’s trivial to even compare what these two are worth.
You know, I was only there for like the training day weeks ago, but yeah, the dojo is a wonderful place to play SF. Hell, I’m still wondering if I’ll play SF “just as a hobby” or maybe more, but I’ll drop in one Macdonald if you guys really need it.
I didn’t know monitors were in such high demand. I’m going to start bringing my monitor every time I come to the dojo (which is pretty much every week). I’ll try my best to always remember to bring it… LOL.
My cash situation isn’t great, but I’m willing to donate. Also, how portable are EVO monitors? Can you take off the base and make the whole thing as flat as the monitor, or is the base still going to be thicker? If, by some stretch, I make enough money to eat everyday this month and have enough left over to donate, then okay. Later on down the line, if I decide to buy my own EVO monitor to bring out, I’m just wondering how portable it would be on the bus.
Count on me for a $20 donation.
I’m a bit short on cash right now, but I’ll donate what I can.
