ill have a monitor w/ the stream up the whole time really
so it is seriously $5 everytime i wanna drop in? ugh. oh well i cna try next season i guess.
Suggestions for the next thing the DOJO should get so that ranbats can be recorded.
will end up costing ~225 after taxes.
= 45 x $5 for the PVR
Money for PVR:
- TwilightShadow (Dojo) 40
still needed: 185
PS. Is this a good PVR or do you know of a better one for recording since you’ve been doing most of it.
Are there cheaper alternatives? We don’t really need the best quality for youtube.
Acutally I was thinking of picking one of those up and doing the streams for the dojo. However, you either need a display that supports component (none of the monitors at the dojo do) or you need to buy an hdfury2 (~$160) + powered HDMI splitter (~$60) + shipping.
Or you can do it much cheaper godsgarden style and network two consoles with a 3rd as observer and recording station.
thats the industry standard atm. its what justin has and it works well
composite with no lag exists???
Sorry, I mean component, not composite. Composite on a CRT won’t lag. The problem is if you want to do HD, you can only split an analog signal (like vga or component) because of HDCP. You can’t have the recorder sitting in between the source and monitor because it will introduce lag.
Btw, is it going to be hella hot at the Dojo this Sunday? I’m sure having a bunch of people in the dojo won’t help the situation and possibly turn the place into a sauna
bring a fan…
I’m going to show up naked! :karate:
it the only recording device that will accept component and records with a usb.
As for recording, just a heads up, i do have recording setups that accepts component (using what he just listed up there) and one that accepts composite (just more ideal and more lightweight).
and no it doesn’t sit in the middle of the system and monitor. I use an Spliter ampifier (really just jsut redicously low price spliter that can ampify composite to S-video if i wanted to)
But without knowing where the dojo is exactly, what type of tvs, # of extra power slots (My setups does take up more power slots) i wouldn’t know what to bring. That and the fact that it’ll cost me $5 everytime i wanna go. that going to burn my wallet.
AFAIK all the monitors are evo monitors. That means they are all HDMI/VGA/DVI. How do you intend to bypass the HDCP? Someone would have to either bring a CRT or a component TV. I believe Avermedia also has a cheaper USB recorder with component support, but the encoding is done on the host system.
we all have asus monitors, vh236
justin records usually on a samsung monitor of some sort, i forget the make
there are usually enough power slots just for two stations - (1xevo monitor + ps3 or 360) with a powerbar
but there are two outlets per panel, so all you need is another powerbar just for yourself
Worst possible monitors for me to find It the only monitors i can’t record on. The rarity of me finding evo monitors in any community is low, so i never bother finding a bypass for me. I would bring my own HDTV, but i don’t drive, so, i can’t bring it either.
You can just google maps Kerrisdale Dojo (which is the title of the thread) while zoomed in on Kerrisdale to find the place. Or, if you’re even more lazy, just go to the first post of the thread and you can find the actual location.
$5 drop in isn’t that much. How is that going to burn your wallet? Have you ever gone to the arcade? One day is probably $10.
i’ve figured it out for location, as for money. im saving up for the next anime convention, so i try to avoid any kind of cost possible. And yes i been to an arcade, only once every 2 months as an avg. I tend to burn only $5 on those days.
Anime Evolution?
If so, i’m going as well!
If you’ve been before (it’s my first time going to a convention), how’s the dealers and stuff?
I’m really interested in seeing some of the merchandise that’s going to be sold there.
yup, Anime Evolution. And i been there for 2 years so far.
As for Dealer stuff, i can promise you, good stuff are there, if you’re there really early. All the limited and special mechanise sells off really fast, as in, 10 mins as soon it open, they’re all gone, and those are $50-$100+ items, usually. Then there are normal items such as wallets, hats, fanarts, i’ve seen someone selling real katanas.
Best if you get your pass on thursday. thursday lineups are long, but i can promise you this, this happens every year, Friday lineups are always the longest lineup, so what you see on thursday, is actually only 1/2 the size of a friday one generally.
Hm, all the limited and special merchandise … Such as?
Figures, wall scrolls, etc?
I’m not sure if i’ll be able to pick up my pass on Thursday, >=/
I’ll try to book off the 12th-15th from work, but i’m not sure if they’ll give me all four days.
I guess I wouldn’t mind some more figures, but I got quite a few on pre-order already, =x
Not sure if I should buy anymore at Anime Evo if they have any, haha.
it’s time to oil up
