The Kazuya Mishima Thread

dont forget st:mk: also a super reliable AA is they are jumping in from distance

Has anyone tried doing a wave dash inbetween shotos crouch medium kick into FB? is it even possible since the execution would be tricky because of the neutral stick?

BTW does Kaz hold his own against shotos? because Kyo and Terry in the CvS days could barely keep up with them.

Just tested that out in training and it isn’t possible. There’s too much blockstun on the cr.MK to even attempt a Mist Step. Good concept, though.

He does, IMO. He can cover a lot of space really quickly with his wavedash while avoiding most fireballs (Sagat’s Low TS and Juri’s LK Fireball both hit him for example). After getting in with a wavedash after a telegraphed fireball, he has a bunch of 50/50 options in Mist Step xx K, K(Low) or P(Mid), Mist Step xx LP, K(Mid) or 2K(Low). If you time it well enough, you can get a WGF into some decent damage. However, if you get too obvious with when you’re gonna wavedash or just do it randomly, you can get swept or cr.MK into whatever.

Mr naps is playing kazuya right now: http://www.twitch.tv/fgtvlive2/

he’s consistently hitting stand fierce xx just frame EWGF, stand fierce xx just frame EWGF, low fierce xx Spinning demon -> Spinning demon hook

almost 500 damage, sooo scary

Hi, don’t know if this has been brought up yet but its roughly 80 wave dashes to build one bar of meter.

New to the forums and thought I should contribute.

is this midscreen or corner?

mid screen

Just a quick question regarding his wave dash. Can he be thrown out of it with normal throws and SPDs?

yes

Cool thanks.

Nice… 0 meter (well meter positive obviously) and 500 dmg. man. I doubt im gonna land to many EWGF online though.

Actually canceling a EWGF from a normal should at lest be easier than doing it raw

The double QCF methods screws with my mind in combo timing, it’s easier to just whip it through neutral into down forward – it’s how I get fairly consistent EWGFs, and feels like shifting in a car

And hey, what’s the conclusion on his wake up options? Can you use the mist step attacks fast enough for a DP like wake up?

Does regular Fierce into WGF then Fierce into WGF work? or at least in the corner?

is WGF then Fierce into Hellsweep into Hellsweep Hook a good alternative? (if it connects)?

For me on wake-up, I use EX Slaughter Hook- cross cancel, if I need to escape heavy pressure at any cost.
Otherwise block, back dash or EX Slaughter Hook.
A meter-less option that should work; is wake-up launcher - if you read a meaty low attack on wake-up; since Launcher is inv. to low attacks.

I dont think Kaz has anything else that is inv on start-up.

How do I get this Corkscrew Uppercut??

It’s the tag super only. With Kazuya on screen: qcf+MP+MK. It’ll switch to your partner for the finish.

^^ I think it’s when Kaz is the one off-screen and where he is the cross-arts ender… if he was a starter he’d do a variation of his ten string…

another way to get the corkscrew Uppercut is just do an EX Gutpunch, the corkscrew upper is the follow up

^^Neither are what Im lookin for…

Im talkin bout THE Corkscrew Uppercut, not a corkscrew uppercut.
And the tag super just does the lame ass beam super.

You cannot get a standalone Corkscrew Upper. It’s not in the game. The only thing closest to the one in the game is the Tag Super. With Kazuya on point it looks like this @12 seconds in:

Some characters have really crazy jump ins…i mean try to anti-air Bisons’s jumping fierce…Kaz gets mauled. I’ve been levelling up with Kaz but I’m still pretty weak against jump ins. Cr.HP and st.MK seem mediocre at best right now.
