yeah, took us 3-4 days, so almost a day per combo. some of them were so hard we almost pulled our hair out until we got it.

I was aware of the series (the comics and animated adaptation) and one day randomly saw a standup system running it. I played it a few times, but the game was inscrutable beyond, say, QCF+A attacks - and no one knew how to play.
A year or so later, I picked it up for my dreamcast and liked it, though felt at the time like it had some really weird inputs (Dio’s 6-c-b-a-6 eye beams, for example) but I ultimately didn’t do much other than play a bit vs. the CPU since none of my friends liked 2D fighting games much.
And then earlier this year, I became aware of 2DF/GGPO and immediately joined when I found out it supported JJBA.
I think I knew of it before reading it, but I read it because of the mudah.swf, then just wanted to dive right into the game.

I play on 2DF, though I don’t know anything about Blade0115, he was just a random American Flag (meaning hopefully low-ping) user that I challenged. He seemed to be the one cycling through all characters, but why I’m “MissingNo” (which I’m convinced is a dummied out Gray Fly, due to the B&W death screen) is beyond me. I didn’t press anything out of the ordinary.

[edit]: Another edit: I was right - at the end of Shady424’s video, the katakana reads “Grey Fly” WINS, so it’s a dummied out, very early version of Gray Fly using some bits of V. Ice, Jotaro, etc

ryo is learning the abdul mariah matchup against shi. i tried showing him how to play against her if you aren’t dio and can knive / laser / teleport through anything. turned out that it’s much harder than i thought.
the most important thing to keep in mind is where and when your opponent likes to place magnets. if you keep chasing her, running into magnets, she will get to level 3 or 4, and you will have a really hard time time, any higher than that, rest of the match might be lost. the best ways to beat the magnets are quick stand attacks with only little recovery. also, s.2A should take care of the low magnets (as a general rule). if you destroy them with a light attack, you can still cancel into specials or supers on reaction if mariah tries something funky. same for the power chord, just cut it with a stand normal (or jumping stand normal if you have an air super like dio or jotaro).
i’ll also finally meet up with the frankfurt crew this sunday for the first time, quite funny that there’s a jojo splinter cell here in my town and i never met those guys before.

Ok, since all this new stuff has been discovered about Avdol, I’d like to know exactly the few tidbits about him that are banned. We all know he’s got a lot of good stuff and retarded invincibility during his ankh supers. But what exactly are the things they are banning? I know one of them is the use of the ankh super in stand mode.
they ban that? o didn’t even know that. only soft ban i know of concerning abdul is the ankhs hard heat, whatever that is.
weren’t you the one who mentioned it a while back? i think i posted the vid a few pages back, bit it shows like the retarded invincibility and you mentioned something about it being banned 
i think atthegates was just citing some rules in Japanese. he didn’t say that himself.

i was speculating (in the other thread) that what might be the ankh’s hard heat are the repeated supers with only 1 bar that grant you invul.
That’d be difficult to regulate tho wouldn’t it? I mean, what if your opponent has like three/four super bars? That’d be hard to keep track of mid-battle.
