Wish I saw all of you guys when I was in the jojo room a month ago, seeing as how lively it’s getting, gonna have to take it up again, was learning Young Jonathan, seems like he could be cool, and I always liked his character, don’t know how he could compete with Abdul/Jotaro/Pol though >_>

Which is unfortunate considering he was the most badass standless character in Jojo’s besides Dio (pre-Arc 3).
EDIT: And the best way to get games with me is to IM me on AIM or w/e. I’m away most of the time on GGPO, and won’t notice someone there until i happen to look away from w/e i’m doing to check up on the GGPO window.
young joseph isnt that bad. anyone can compete in this game. are there still defined tiers? yes, hes low on the tier list, but we are talking about jojo here…

getting a knockdown near the corner is where young jojo starts to shine.
negative edging inputs from his running slide is necessary in my mind.
a very solid defensive game is required as well.
A particular match vid comes to mind when i think of how accurate the tiers are when it comes to Jojo being completely wrecked by the upper tiers. I know tiers aren’t everything in this game, but i think for him he’s just got too much reliance on shenanigans to really have a solid chance. One match i had seen from an A-Cho video did not last long, it was Dio vs Jojo and in one round the Dio player even got a perfect…:lol:
All the Joseph talk is making me miss the game even more, between PC SF4 and the German folks moving on to Blazblue/etc I haven’t had a match in months. :sad:
ive prolly seen every character get perfected, does that mean anything at all other than jojo has tons of shinangians to go around?
I think Y.Jo has a lot of strong points. He has a great high/low mixup game, his kara-block glitch lets him option-select mash a lot on defense, his cracker volley is great oki if you can toss it out, same with his wrap-around crossbow shot, his overdrive is great and all his slide attacks are great. I think his main weaknesses are: crappy anti-air options, crappy guard reversal, having only half-decent supers. A lot of the mid and upper tier characters like spewing supers like it’s water for heavy damage but Y.Jo’s uppercut super is only so-so and his ruby beam is so situational you almost never use it. His hamon soda pop thing is just garbage IMO so he has to space and zone well to keep himself from getting overwhelmed by jump-ins.
Honestly I agree that anyone in Jojo’s has a chance at winning since everyone has a significant amount of strong points. Though certainly there are some really fucking bad matchups that are horribly lopsided. Mariah vs S.Dio comes to mind. That’s probably not even the worst matchup in the game either, if the S.Dio gets in her face at the start of the round he can end it just as easily as she can end it if she gets him off her.
I’d like his super uppercut a lot better if it couldn’t be air blocked… or if it had any relevant range. But JoJo’s isn’t really a game that’s supposed to make you afraid to jump-in I guess.

His runpast lunge super and his uppercut are like: “God fucking damn dude, you are a dirty little whore”. It’s like, yeah I saw that shit coming a mile away and I’m still raped (insert emoness).
Which is why I think A.Pol is a great “litmus test” in tiers. He and Midler are actaully great representations of the basic bullshit that can happen in Jojos. Anyone that doesn’t have the bullshit that they do is definitely going to be struggling (it’s winnable! but hard!).
Hey Xenozip, how come you don’t have any JJBA vids on your youtube account? I was hopin to see a lot of the strange glitches that you discovered while tinkering with the game. Reminds me of this weird glitch me and 192 did a while back with R. Soul…dude hit me with his stand while blocking…

Oh I dunno, I do have some replays of online casuals I could put up but I haven’t really bothered to record any combos or glitches.
I have had that R.Soul thing happen to me, too. No idea how to reproduce it, but it was hilarious, totally locks your special moves. I can’t even remember how to unlock your moves either after the glitch happens.
