From the description seems there won’t be any sort of time lapse. Sounds like it’s going to take place really close to where the 2nd left off.
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

How the contract went out to everyone in New York City’s Central Park was borderline comedic. This should be entertaining.
The fact you take the universe of John wick seriously is comedic. It’s a universe filled with Assassins that have a literal world wide communication hub that can contact any assassins at any moment. In their universe it’s not far fetched that for that many assassins to be amassed and contacted all at the same time.

For me there is no universe, only the tones of the films set by the director. I was always under the impression that the whole organization was underground and had their own secretive methods of dealing with matters given the presentation of the movies. For its members to completely fill a public attraction like that is absurd.
Cool. You’re wrong. The movie literally set up a universe on the first movie and then established it with rules and boundaries in the second. The fact you don’t acknowledge them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
Did you even watch the second movie? They literally explain how the entire agency works.

Agree whole heartedly here. The world is setup in the first movie with the “rules” and the second movie reinforces them.
The second movie felt like a bigger version of the first one. I am pretty stoked to see how this will round things out. I hope that after this movie they are done with the franchise.

Lmfao their def is a “universe”. They have their own code,language and payment system. They systematized it even further in part two when you see the royalty in that world.

Considering the shit Wick has been through in the past…what’s the time lapse on these films? A month or 2 after the death of his wife? I’m sure the wear is appropriate.

John Wick chapter 1 happens in the span of a few days I think? Chapter 2 starts immediately after chapter 1 and chapter 3 presumably happens right after 2 seeing as how chapter 2 ended.
john wick you gotta take with a grain of salt. he should 100% be dead. but they arent thatttt based in reality obviously.

Well chapter 1 ends with him walking with Dog on the boardwalk where Helen collapsed and chapter 2 starts with him at Viggo’s brothers chop shop to get his car back. I don’t know the time lapse between the two but judging by how John wick operates; it likely wasn’t that long (especially seeing as Chapter 1 ends at night and Chapter 2 begins at Night)
Chapter 2 takes place across a few days, maybe a week. It’s honestly hard to tell due to so many fast travel skips.
I guarantee chapter 3 starts immediately after 2 though since his contract went live at the end of chapter 2
