I like how the chicks who have the reasons to go physical on some guy won’t do it.
Why don’t they call the cops on THESE dudes? So many are quick to call the cops on some dude that ain’t even looked at them, so why not now when the threat is real? Dumb shit I tells ya.
I like how apparently capt. Save-a-ho won’t come to the rescue of women who actually ARE in danger from a credible threat (I.E. crazy ex). Mutha fucks know better than to stand in the way of the animals when the cage door is open.
You’re right. Don’t throw on the cape. There are cops paid to do this very kind of job. Let them do it. If they wanna play the game, let them deal with the boss battles like everybody else.
Strangely enough on the job side, I think I may have found another good thing about having disability via the military. Unless I read incorrectly, mine is only affected by certain things, such as if my condition improves, becomes worse, or is otherwise changed. In other words, getting a job would only affect my SSI pay, not both of them. Well, if I manage to be able to make more money outside of disability than I make while on it, well…What would YOU choose? Me too.
You know what I don’t get? Why some women who have husbands or men in general come with them to pick up furniture from a store instead of bringing their friend Ester, which results in me having to struggle putting in their purchases in their vehicle myself. The two cabinets could only fit by having them parallel next to each other between the front seats, and one of the women asked if the other’s husband could come with a truck. She said, “he’s already in his pajamas so he’s not coming out”. Now I’m not saying women are weak by any means, but going by stereotypical gender roles, shouldn’t you help your wife pick up furniture? It wasn’t super heavy, but clearly one person can going to struggle with it alone, especially when trying to put it in the car.
It’s also annoying that the customers keep asking you how to fit everything in the car like I do this on a daily basis, especially considering I don’t work in the department. I’m surprised I still got a tip since the box slipped and ended up hitting one of the women in the head as she was standing by the trunk.
And all of this happened because I got called in, and the furniture manager wasn’t “feeling well”. I would say I got tricked again, but since he didn’t come back the next day, I suppose he caught something.
White collar jobs aren’t everything. Jobs like operating 4,5,6-axis CNC machines, CNC programmers, inspectors, and welders. Based on my friend’s experience, I would not recomment being electrician. There are also jobs like being a drafter, piping designer, and such.
You don’t need a degree for an office job. I’m a brainless FT scanner operator with a private company entry-level pay, literally 4 minute walk from my apartment. How did I get it? By being a Craigslist Fiend®: Hitting up both jobs/gigs links fulltime until I got this one, obviously a jackpot, everyone is jealous I live the closest lol. Hell I’m working a gig right now greeting people at the Ramen Yokocho festival for the 2nd time for 3 bills #Cheddah
You know the saying… “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”
Sometimes getting on the fast track to any job can help if you know the right people. Sure, you may feel more entitled by grinding your way through but it always helps to be in with the right people. This has always been and it will always be. Might as well join em if you want more than you’re worth. Pucker up.
lol@pucker up. As much as we may all wish it were not true, it remains true to this day, and everybody can see it. One day I hope it’ll be just the opposite, but until then…**DAT ASS. **
I’m not really sure how to get around my current issue.
Brief background, in construction, (project engineer/junior PM) inherited two HORRIBLE jobs as a PM that were horribly managed by the Construction Manager (I’m elec) and by the previous PM. I’m away from corporate so I wasn’t getting great help, my boss/Ops Manager was all over the place trying to get work so not there for support, with the jobs not having money I handled EVERYTHING office related. My performance in general sucked due to lack of support and being somewhat thrown under the bus just by the situation. They said back in January they were shutting down the office I am in and no longer pursuing work in this area…starting me on the job hunt. I’ve had little luck due to the current phase of construction projects (most are winding down and people are in estimate mode), but I also know that I have the ‘smell’ of both my jobs on me. I’m positive that potential employers are contacting people and I’m getting a bad wrap for an unfair position. Can’t figure out how to escape this…I nail the interview, get the tour and everything, but it doesn’t progress further.
That’s just the nature of business. If you’re honest about things and able to talk, I’m sure potential employers will see that in you. It also depends on who you talk to. If I get asked generic corporate bs questions then I don’t do well because those questions are fake and I am not a fake person. For my current job, my boss was looking for someone intelligent and capable with a character fit for leadership. So I got drilled with hard technical questions but I was able to shine in that situation.
Any fair person would consider your point of view and if they don’t then you know not to work for them.
Yeah, and I seem to get around it in interviews, but somewhere I’m getting undercut. I’ve been told that people in this area are SUPER fickle (only been in NC for a couple years now), and I’ve gotten soft offers from places outside of where I currently am, but my wife is pregnant and won’t let me do the commute thing again, so I HAVE to find something in this area, and honestly, both jobs I’ve run were for colleges, the job that moved me down here was for a college (and that one got the company black-balled, even though I was only a bit player - on the last 1/4 of it and did a GREAT job), and its a major college area (Raleigh-Durham) where word spreads, quickly and loudly. Frankly every interview except my last one, they knew about ‘how bad’ Duke was before I got there. I’m just super-fed up - I’ve been a great employee but I’m covered in skunk piss and can’t get it off.
