If you don’t want properly a reflector, try Dormammu Dark Hole. It assorbs projectiles and it’s an attack, so you can use tha in more varius situations.
Do one of the following:
A>That third character could be a ranged powerhouse, sentinel, doom,dromammu, arthur, chris, maybe magneto or iron man, you need SOMETHING that can sustain offense at a distance, otherwise, as soon as you opponent gets some space he has the advantage. I’m not saying you shouldnt try to get in his face and ruin his day there, but you need to be able to cope with situations where getting close is impractical. Frequently this will work until you eliminate a key component of the strategy your going up against. Then with their mechanism for keeping you out effectivly disabled, switch to haggar or ammy and make them rue the day they crossed you.
B>Get a teleport character, they eat sentinel for breakfast.they also deal nicely with some rushowns and are frequently rushdown characters themselves. Wesker works really well against sentinel, just wait for them to do a projectile, and then teleport to them (past the projectile) and ruin their day.
Interesting. That’s a team that has some appeal to me. Haggar (Lariat), Wesker (What assist?), Amaterasu (Cold Star) could be fun.
After a blocked dp+lp do a grab or instant air grab if you think they gonna jump. Grab sucks though since you can’t follow up.
best BnB I can find so far for midscreen is c.:l:,c.,:f::h:,:qcf::l:,:l:,
,:srk::l:,j.
,j.
,j.:h:,j.:d::h:,:dp::l:,j.
,:,j.:h:,j.:u::h:,:qcf::s:
595 damage. it hurts a whole lot, tacking on a body slam at the end only puts it up to 647 damage.
You can reset after c.:l:,c.,:f::h:,:qcf::l:,:l:,
,:srk::l:,j.
,j.
,j.:h:,j.:d::h: with violent axe instead of the relaunch and then use heavy hoodlum toss.(corner)(oh whoops someone pointed this out already, oh well, my reset has an extra PIPE which means it’s BADASS)
Does X-factor reset haggars bounce limit. since you only get a bounce after the first hoodlum toss when using the pipe.
Hey is his axe move (d,df,f,H) punishable on block? Whats top stop people from repeatedly spamming this? Same with his super (d,df,f,H+S) this must be punishable on block…
i found an easy reset if your a beginner tryin to learn haggar
works anywhere one screen:
:l:,,:h:,:qcf:
this version of violent axe will let them air reset, so simply normal diagonal jump towards them, wait for the air recovery and :hcb::h: their ass. takes off a little more than half to a normal stamina character.
EDIT: another simple combo that does 482k might of been posted already (we need a combo thread)
:l:,,:h:,:s:, s.j,
,:h:,:u:,:h:,:qcf::s:
kills pheonix with 1 combo? no assists? no meter? its mike fucking haggar.
and with one meter, you can do a simple 540k combo
:l:,,:h:,:s:, s.j,
,
,:h:,:d::h:,OTG :dp::atk::atk:
his pipe is +9 on block so no it’s not punishable and he needs that to spam to start his mixup. Basically stay out of haggar pipe range and you’re good. If you block the pipe then hope you’re a good rock paper scissors player.
the pipe is fine what about his axe move? The 3 hit one in particular with High attack. You can’t even regular jump over it as he’s too tall. What’s the best way to deal with it?
This is marvel, you just block until he stops doing safe moves.
so it is indeed safe? damn
‘Damn?’, more like “lol, YES!” After playing around with the advice others in this thread and a few other areas have given, I played around with Haggar (Lariat)/Wesker (still not sure on what assist yet, though Samurai Edge may be the default choice here)/Doom (Rocks)… I found a lot of my problems went away. This is very encouraging indeed.
It would be nice if someone who had the guide could post how safe all the different versions of violent axe are on block and how safe the L Hooligan is on block. Also does violent axe have any special properties? I can’t think of a reason to just randomly throw them out there and am hoping they are useful outside of combos.
Is it possible to do a followup after the piledriver at all? Once I got lucky and comboed into the body press super after the spinning air throw (qcf S) but I can’t seem to do anything meaningful after landing piledrivers. If it helps I was very close to the ground when I did the air throw.
Is there any way to punish Sent’s :s:?
I’m actually starting to settle on the exact same team. Interesting…
Can you lariat the rocket punch?
I’d try it in training mode but I can’t figure out a way to record moves like you could in SF4…which if true, is absolutely stupid.
found an easy almost no execution 800,000 to a little over 1,000,000 damage combo depending on xfactor level. If you land a lariat from a combo or on a grounded opponent x factor on the first or second hit of lariat. Immediately follow up with light hoodlum jm,jh, dh, light hoodlum jm,jh,big spin. the jumps are straight up no need to worry about jumping diagonally. Also thought of an interesting gimmick when I was testing this out. I got iron man repulsor blast as a random team member in training. as soon as you land from big spin call irom man and command dash to the other side. you will still be right on top of them and they will have to block the repulsor blast. Iron man is possibly unpunishable as well since there back will be turned to him or you. I haven’t tried either of these in a match so take it with a grain of salt.
Wouldn’t Hoodlum Launcher M work? It’s a grab not a throw so…
wtf am i stupid or what
can anyone help me?
whats the command for doing the pipe slap while jumping? (-> H on the ground)
I’ve been playing minor variations of this over the last day or so. Haggar/Wesker is constant, but my fire support character changes. Sometimes I like Doom, sometimes Arthur, sometimes Amaterasu. I think I like Amaterasu for the general ease of DHCs.
