More than barbarian straight wild preistoric looking caveman, very first Necalli was supposed to be an actual cannibal (LOL) that literally eat strong fighters⌠not absorb metaphorically theyr souls XD
I see what they did there and also why was scrapped, too out kid-friendly tone they want
If they wanted they could have keep Nec as a total wild primitive human with zero culture link, but iâm fine also with him being atzec because worlld cultures clash is/was the best part of SF design structure.
Also Atzec got the whole human sacrifice stuff, chopping heads with obsidian clubs on stone altars⌠wich sound like an hobby Nec will like, feel fitting
Fun thing one of these is a Swiss Guard (the ones that protect the Pope in Vatican City)
What you see in the story isânt real, itâs the visualization of the prophecy of the Prophecy Warrior (Lol)
Ingame Necalli isânt a clay monster that absorb peoples (but still talk about eat souls), as the alt costume isânt canon in current SFV timeline because he stopped looking like that (IF he ever looked like that) before SFV events
He literally seem to eat the fighterâs energy (2:20) from far, not actually eat peoples (wich was the original concept)
Also -thatâs just a theory- the whole Necâs story mode can be just a figurative thing and the Nec we see is just the Prophecy Warrior that succumbed at the power of the SnH inside him (as Akuma/Oni or Evil Ryu)
Just like that sketch doesânt mean that Ryu have an psycho twin that want bite his face
Thatâs true of most of the story, but the part at the end where the Prophet himself is consumed does not appear to be that.
It seems like Necalli absorbs the Prophet, which makes him more human looking. Whether he still consumes people or not in this new form remains to be seen.
Until I actually see Necalli devour a soul in the manner in which he does in the intro, I would call it all symbolic in the sense that; Nash doesnât lose his dog tags or knock Bisonâs hat off when he collides with him in the same intro. Bisonâs hat falling off of his head is a symbol of his defeat (as no oneshould be able to have enough skill to knock it off), Nashâs dog tags falling off are a similar symbol (because thatâs what happened when he was killed by Bison). Ryu goes Evil and starts to give off the red energy that the Warrior Prophet sayâs that Necalli wants from him, but him actually devouring the energy in the manner he does in the intro imo is symbolic.
.
What if the last prophecy the Prophet had before he died was of him being absorbed himself, but in reality in didnât happen as such??? Iâm really trying to stretch out on a limb for Necalli because the whole ancient Majin Pillarman is something coming way out of left field for SF, imo of course.
Also Caveman Necalli rremind me A LOT Zodd from Berserk⌠a warrior-demon who go around the world in human form searching strong warriors to fight and if youâre able to injury him enough he go into a demonic form (way over the top than Necâs, a batwingedminotaurlion lol)
Ironically Akuma (particular Bengus one iirc) in SFA and later already took a bit from Zodd look, specially the wide nose, round red eyes and mouth shape
I bet she hates the fact that Mika and Gief get their âHeat Upâ tag team outfits. That would actually make Mikaâs story mode interesting if they implemented the whole Nadeshiko heel rivalry right in the middle of it (since Mikas not really up to anything interesting anyway).
