The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

So that means it will take over once ono passses the torch…wonderful. I hate the colour green even more now.

Yeah but then Ono will just show back-up and totally destroy Blanka’s credibility as a boss by making him look like a joke when he beats him without trying.

My biggest problem with KoF is that it has all these great characters from Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting and Ikari Warriors (including Haidern and Leona here) but it does nothing with them, while they create pimp after pimp for the Hero Team.

In Street Fighter at least I like Ryu, as much as I think he’s a burden for the story. In KoF I don’t like any of the designated main characters.

I feel like Cammy kinda forgot about Juli. We see her fight really hard for Juni and Decapre, but Juli is just like “eh”. Hopefully T-Hawk has improved her mental state, but I doubt we’ll get a status update on her since T-Hawk’s unlikely to be in this game.

Characters may not need to PERMANENTLY die, but at the very least consequences should occur for some time. If a character dies than they should stay dead for an extended period and/or have some differences when they return. Nash was probably the best handled one in the series. Bison however has returned the very next game every time except for SF3, and that is only cause they intentionally ditched people. They’ve said before that they added characters than wrote the story based on those characters chosen in SFV. It’s kind of a backwards way for a story to progress. It means they need contrived excuses sometimes.

Even if Bison doesn’t die, he could disappear for sometime and let someone else do something that isn’t related to him whatsoever. Know what would be cool? A permanent damage to Bison BUT with a weird effect. Say Bison doesn’t have a new body available, Nash cuts off one of his arms, next time we see Bison he has an arm made entirely out of psycho power. Now you have a new way to explore his gameplay AND a story movement. It shows Bison is hurtable but shows he is also still incredibly powerful. Maybe it takes him a ton of effort to keep his body from dissipating but he HAS that power.

How do you figure? Cammy’s whole SFV storyline revolves around her trying to free the other 11 dolls.

Yes, but considering the only playable ones were those 3, she seems to be always after or taking care of Juni & Decapre, and never talks about Juli, who clearly isnt with the other dolls at Shadaloo.

T.Hawk’s ending isn’t canon. The only doll that Bison doesn’t have with him is Juni.

The Dolls better have a significant role in the game to justify the work Bengus did to redesign them and give them individuality.

So…they all turn into blonde and blue eyed dolls when they get recused?

The problem with SF compare to other fighting game(gg, mk, kof, tekken and etc), when you ask someone born in the 90s about a fighting game majority is street fighter that first come up into the mind, it made so big that it had established so much in pop culture like another pop culture game SMB that is koopa. IMHO

MK is also established in pop culture and it isn’t afraid to change. MK9 turned Sub-Zero into a robot and he’s MK’s most marketable character along with Scorpion.

Everytime I look at your avatar I keep seeing deadpool for some reason.

Cammy’s interest in Juni and Decapre makes sense, because Juni is the only one she’s successfully saved, and Decapre is the one that’s ACTUALLY her sister(or fellow clone, whatever), instead of just metaphorically, like the rest.

No. It really doesn’t.

says who?

We know that dictator is dependent so much with Psycho Power is a good twist, Like something I posted in the thread earlier, for Akuma to have wrong expectation towards Satsu no Hadou. It’s not to change the scene but to having a new perspective of an event behind the previous established scene not destroying it’s like a plot twist in the movie or manga. Since Satsu no hadou is thought by Goutetsu and Akuma expand it by self study not from a guidance of another master that is has expertise on its nature. In that part he would find himself lacking and betrayed by his power. This even gives a thought that Goutetsu cared about Akuma and not about stopping him the becoming strongest, Some powers in many stories isn’t really about being strongest among all powers created in a fictional universe but because its nature is unknown to many and can bring danger that’s why it is feared not because it was the ultimate power of that universe, This gives new probabilities of other potential threat powers undiscovered.

Video Games can be used in serial format. It can continue for as long as there’s a demand. It’s why we have yearly CoD and Ass Creed. Batman games bi-annually.

Wait, seriously? Makes the whole thing just meaningless… as sad as it is I was kinda hoping for it to be canon because of how… impactful it is.

Not necessarily. I don’t remember seeing Juli as part of the dolls in-game, but only as part of the artwork which still includes Juni as one of the dolls. We don’t know all the details yet to rule his ending as non-canonical just yet IMO.

I think Bison trapped in Necalli’s belly or Bison having no choice but to possess the body of the boy (Ed) are likely what we will be getting. The character will not be ‘dead’ but his evil efforts will be considerably delayed to a later time.

I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say she’s still a part of the Dolls, some guy tweeted about it in Japanese

Translated:

It’s not an official source so you can take it with whatever grain of salt you want but it seems to be safe to assume that Juli is still under Bison’s control.

Originally Juli wasn’t supposed to have any connection to T.Hawk they just had to use her because of the time constraints of making another relevant playable character. I can see why this is something that they keep wanting to flip flop on like Nash’s death. I wouldn’t be surprised if they retcon her connection with T.Hawk out completely to make things simpler and more focused on Cammy like they were originally in Alpha 3. That and fix the discrepancy of the Doll he was originally in search for; Noembelu.
