Not Ibuki related but we live in a planet where fat boobs are sold as legit big boobs

Then they get on diet quitting eating like boars and they lose half of theyr former arsenal lol

Also don’t trust What bra is selling you, fat tits always have bad match up vs earth gravity

And all of this is story thread related because we still don’t know Q’s identity imho

Anyways, for those Spanish readers there’s a book that just got released a couple months ago or so, which is titled "Final Round: El Legado de Street Fighter" and it is about the history of the Street Fighter series in-universe and out-universe.

It features no original research on its own (i.e. no interviews with the staff or digging forgotten sources that are not “common” knowledge), so if you are a regular of this thread chances are that you know everything in the book, and I’m sure there’s the occasional goof (such as considering Mike and Balrog the same character when I seem to recall it wasn’t the case?) but it’s pretty cool still and it does compile a lot of info.

(it’s available on other countries’ Amazon stores as well)

Random character pages:

[details=Spoiler]Opening page for the character stories. The author states that he tries to apply a logic similar to the classic Star Wars canon tiers, where he takes stuff from the different media, for example he says that Ken’s mother is dead because of Street Fighter Assassin’s Fist, although for the most part the events from outside the games are simply not mentioned at all.

The author humorously reasons what Claw was doing between SF2 and SF4, and he gives him a thick southern accent. :lol:

Mention to Alan Noon’s design of Gouken is included on the rightmost part of this page. There’s a good amount of info dumped on the book in general. For example, one of the SF2 pages I uploaded above makes a mention to how the game subtitle was mispelled as The World Warrier and Nishitani had to scramble to find an “o” within the ROM files to overwrite it.

Well, it doesn’t seem so to me. The title No me llames Mike Bison, llámame Balrog “Don’t call me Mike Bison, call me Balrog” probably just refers to his old name change back in SF2 from the Japanese version, not to the character called Mike.

:rofl: :rofl:
Ok, THAT was hilarious.
Basically, after Bison’s disappearance and Sagat’s defection after SF2, Vega became Shadaloo’s boss, but immediately resigned, dumping the position on Balrog, because, according to his words, “I’m too busy snorting drug¹, so don’t bother me. Let that ugly Balrog take up the post” (all said in heavy Andalusian Spanish :rofl: )
Even so, Balrog thought he could use Vega’s people skills (ROTFL), and appointed him to Shadaloo’s public relations. The first meeting with a South American cartel ended in disaster because, according to Vega, “They were so ugly I simply had to kill them” :rofl: Balrog then decided that, since Vega came from a noble family, maybe he could have been more useful as financial adviser. Vega then proceeded to turn all Shadaloo’s investments into the cosmetic industry, a move that hastened even more the fall of the organisation, since selling automatic rifles and ground-to-air missiles joined together with lipstick and perfumes was not, let’s say, usual. “Now, Balrog, don’t be a charmless person and scold me, because I thought Vidal Sassoon was going to be the future, 'cause I saw him in a documentary on Canal Sur! Ah, people don’t understand me! It’s because no one is beautiful like me?”, complained the torero-ninja while contemplating his reflection on his compact mirror. After some time, the organisation again rose from its ashes, because Bison had resurrected and took reins again. Vega’s innate abilities as an assassin ensured his position as one of the Four Kings, but of course Bison was well aware of the fact that he had to keep Vega away from any decision-making activity inside Shadaloo. :rofl:

EDIT:
¹ as @mikros pointed out, the Spanish expression empolvarse la nariz stands for “powdering one’s nose”; its primary meaning is the same as in English, but the expression could also be used as an euphemism in both languages. However, while in English the euphemistic one stands for “woman using a toilet” and so on, in Spanish it refers to “snorting cocaine”. Well, that escalated SO quickly I simply couldn’t resist picturing Vega as a stoner. :rofl: Sorry, my translation is obviously incorrect (Vega was clearly only applying cosmetics), but I thought a good hyperbole could better serve the laugh. :lol:
However, as it would be still improper to let people think that the author wrote that Vega was snorting drug, it’s better to clarify my choice.

There’s only one character file for him/them “Balrog (Mike Bison)”, next to the other SF1 characters. Reading it full now, the author says that they were intended to be the same character, but Capcom has since avoided saying they are the same because of the Tyson thing.

I’m pretty sure he means no drug slang, just applying cosmetics, as in powder his nose

http://i.imgur.com/u8EDTlp.jpg

(the expression has the same euphemistic meaning as it does in English, btw https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/powder_one's_nose).

Yes, that was its obvious intended meaning, but I find the second meaning of empolvarse la nariz much more hilarious, sorry :rofl:

Well, Vega did use the SH-11 drug in the EX series, so at least in that series, he was a stoner.

This looks pretty big, even if it looks like it’s just already known information massed together.
It doesn’t look like it costs too much either.

I can’t see the names of the last two mangas down there. Are they Street Fighter II: Ryu (the one released in the West by UDON in three books) and Super Street Fighter II Cammy (The one released by Viz back in the 90s)?

Yes, Masaomi Kanzaki’s SFII: Ryu, and Masahiko Nakahira’s SSFII: Cammy.

My eye-squinting abilities are growing ever stronger!
Thanks for info.

Hi. You know what I’m gonna say right?

[details=Spoiler]What does that page on the right say?

TEEEHEEE[/details]

:smiley:

If there should be a story follow up for S2, I hope that writers will learn from their past mistakes and redeem the characters that fell into inconsistency or have been victimized by quizzical decisions in the narration in general.

Chun-Li get treated badly for example; she jobbed extremely hard this around.
Laura (even though I am not “that” big of a fan of her) really needs to be handled better. She barely added anything noteworthy to this story."
Necalli… needs help. Seriously. He got either owned, outwitted, or fucked up Dhalsim… M. Bison… Ryu… those aren’t even it!

There are more examples, but these characters deserve a lot more respect than this.

Dang, lots of talk while I was away!

Pretty interesting stuff on the debate about SFA3 being merged or not. I’d really like SF to clear this up since they have the tools to do that and so much more.

I’d love if you guys could get in somehow. I sadly only have acting pals and such, no writers :c

@Miðgarðsorm: Whoa, I knew vaguely that Zangief went to school and met Gorbachev, but I didn’t know he authored a book or was so educated. The XvsSF stuff is a surprise too! This “life outside the ring” stuff is why I love KoF. I love the little details that show these are more than just fighters, they’re people first.

Right on man, I’d seriously support this to give back to you guys for all your translation work over the years. I really wanna show my thanks

hisses Leeeeeeet me pay you! At least to procure materialsssssssssSSSSsss!!

@“Darc Requiem” I dig the Cody concept. I like that you added some depth to why he wound up in prison. I really wanna see Cody move beyond the passive, jailed guy routine.

Huh, interesting. All the jokes aside, her insecurity is a little touch of humanity when contrasted with her sadistic arrogance. It makes me wonder if it was just another thing to bother her during her journey, also being a young orphaned girl with an eye patch couldn’t have been easy; physically and socially. We know kids can be cruel, but man, Juri having to re-learn how to fight due to the depth perception issue has gotta suck, having people ridicule her for not being as good as she once was and missing an eyeball has to be worse. Throw down body insecurity on top of that and it’s no wonder she wants everyone to suffer.

I agree. You don’t want everone falling into the same physicality. It reminds me of comics; You saw a lot more diversity in body types back then with men and women. Wolverine was short, fit and stocky, but wasn’t as ripped as Cyclops, Spidey was wirey and cut. Kitty Pride was cute and awkward; skinny, different head and facial shape than the other X women, bigger eyes and big, curly hair. Jean and Storm have been shapely, but Rogue was shapely and noticeably buffer.

I don’t want all the SF women look like they’re in similar height, build and weight classes. I still think Juri would be as hot if she didn’t get the upgrade in 5. (For the record, I’m flexible on attributes; bigger or smaller bust is fine by me, every make and model is different and variety is the spice of life! – That’s my boring, oldman answer to this rather lively topic lol.)

Interesting, I do like that each generation of experiment had specific attributes. I’ve long been in favour of the idea that due to his taunt buffs, Q’s power be superhuman strength and variable skin density. I’m not sure about him not being able to speak, my personal headcannon is he can speak, but…he’s having a bad (series) of days and it’s more his mental state than a physical limitation, but, that’s just me.

@Miðgarðsorm:
Holy crud, I LOVE that idea of Vega bankrupting Shadaloo because of his narcissism. It would make for a fantastic short.

Also congrats on getting the Eventhubs shout out! Good job @AriesWarlock, a little attention here is nice. It’d be awesome if one day Capcom looked at these efforts seriously and it resulted in a positive effect for the canon.

I still had more ideas for the website too. Just never got around to it. And no one would really care.

Though with the recent spike in popularity for EX2p I might revisit those ideas at some point.

Lol I used that site as a reference for the guide I was writing. You don’t have the SFEX+a endings on there though. If you ever do revisit them again those would be awesome to include because they are different from the SFEX+.

That seems like an easy enough of an idea that I can work through real quick. Though wasn’t the SFEX+a endings just the videos? In which I did upload those to my u2b channel. And looks like I do have the EX+a. Or at least Sakura. Well still easy enough to go through and do EX, EX+, and EX+a and post them all.

Nothing remarkably funny or that we don’t know already. Being Spanish, the author joked quite a bit on Vega’s bio, but Bison’s entry, like the rest of the book, is a compilation of known info and a little bit of speculation on the author’s part trying to blend and reason the story bits:

-Stats: what we know (or don’t);
-Mention to Washizaki from Riki-Oh as inspiration;
-Likes: world domination, planning world domination, dreaming of world domination (ok, I think the third like is a joke indeed, iirc it’s not part of his official bio)
-Relations with Balrog, Vega, Fang, Chun Li, Guile, etc.;
-Game appearances: what we know;
-Mention to a link with Rose of unknown nature;
-Mention to body transfers, the author reasons that it’s easier to jump into non-inhabited bodies or he would eventually be expelled from the host, so he creates clones and is looking to create the perfect clone, with Psycho Power and stolen data and fighting techniques;
-Author says that Bison hosts the SFI tournament to that end and sees Ryu and his SnH;
-Bison looks for Ryu, Rose beats him, he jumps into Rose’s body thanks to the connection they share and he eventually gets his SFII body, ready to host the second tournament;
-Ryu and him get ready to fight in the final match, Akuma jumps in and kills him. Author reasons that Akuma damaged Bison’s soul, causing him to take more time than usual to reincarnate. (yeah, the whole deal with Akuma, Bison and the SGS is always an ugh topic, especially after what we saw in SF4 and its related media);
-Shadaloo is dismantled with the exception of SIN, in Seth’s hands, Bison comes back and kills Seth;
-Summary of A Shadow Falls, Fang, the black moons, Ryu kicks his ass with his revamped SnH, we’ll have to see if Bison comes back, Illuminati are now behind the corner;
-Fin.

Has anyone else noticed we are past 500 pages?

Well the Japanese versions had text endings for each version that came out. The videos were only for the English versions. I noticed you had the Japanese versions on your site but not for SFEX+a. If you take a look at Guile’s for example you’ll notice that it’s different than the one from your site.

Damn straight! Love this thread

Some Vega-related things I’m wondering about…

  1. Given that he is of Catalonian descent, it’s kind of interesting that Capcom would make him a matador even though a lot of Catalonians are against it. Granted, bullfighting wasn’t banned there until 2012 or so (I think they also re-lifted the ban in recent years), but it’s more prominent around Madrid or Andalusia (especially Seville and Malaga).

  2. Aside from the Street Fighter II V anime, we never see him in an actual bullfight. I wonder how that would’ve went down. I’d like to think his mentor would be a tribute to Juan Jose Padilla, AKA “El Pirata”.

  1. Will we ever get to see what his villa looks like? So far, we’ve only seen a bit of it in concept art and his Super Turbo endings.
  1. Considering that the Costa del Sol is nicknamed the “Costa del Crime”, would Vega have a hand in it? On top of that, what would he think of the British expats living there?
