The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

I like all SF anime movies the top was SF2 animated, SF Alpha, Ties that Bind, Generation and the last was the Juri movie.

I like the story more on Alpha maybe because it’s centered more on Ryu.

The visual and overall division of the story to each cast is to SF2 anime next is Ties that Bind.

Anyone here miss Evil Ryu? Well, miss no more, cause he’s here. Start from 17:14 onwards is his ending. I expected more, to be honest, but it’s OK I guess.

Now, do you guys think they also gave Akuma an ending? I certainly hope so.

Edit: Shit, @Doctrine Dark beat me to it.

Akuma already has an ending from HDR, in fact, he has 2 (one for defeating Bison and Shin Akuma)

The only ones I’ve ever seen was SF2 The Animated Movie (The GOAT), the Ties that Bind, and the Juri OVA.

I saw some of the Akuma Alpha movie on Sci-Fi, but wasn’t a fan.

Never saw the SF2 V anime, though I’ve heard great things about it.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this shit:

I just saw @Daemos call Alpha Generations a “great anime”.

For that alone, I’m holding you responsible for the abomination above. It makes me feel better.

RUN SAKOORA! FIND RAYOU!

Watched every single episode of the US Street Fighter cartoon.

Not because it was good
but because it was Street Fighter.

And I own that crap for the same reason and the lolz.

Uh, I believe you’re forgetting about a little thing called Pokemon
The Movie
2000!

Why? I think it’s pretty good (especially the animation and art).

I usually watch it two or three times in a row.

Generations had great animations. It was short and sweet. The fights lacked the masterful choreography of the SF2AM but they were effective and artfully done.

The flashback sequences with Young Gouki and Gouken were a very interesting interpretation of one of the most significant chapters of the SF story, probably the best one yet.

Generations also introduced the concept of physical mutations due to the SNH which Capcom have adopted into the canon.

The Retsu-type old man in Generations would’ve been a better fit for Ryu in SF4/5 than a resurrected Gouken. And introducing a potential love interest for Ryu was a great touch (only for her to be ignored by him which reveals more about him).

It was no successor to SF2AM but as a stand alone short story it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the craptastic Alpha. Generations was focused to say the least.

Ryu’s relationship with Fuka was quite interesting given the fact that they became closer and closer as it went on. A shame it wasn’t developed any further, they had a lot in common.

And yeah the SNH being a negative force that eats away at the body and personality of its user, until they become brainless murderers was a good concept.
That scene where you see ancient SNH users brutally killing each other while the Old Man’s explains how despicable those past events were still gives me the chills.

I like the casual clothes Ryu, ken, young Akuma, mutation SNH, Sakura-vs-Ryu-scene and ancestor stuff in SNH in a generation, while the other design and story of it is not for me.

I enjoyed it along with SFA movie and SF2v anime for being alternative stuff of entertainment for SF like Marvel’s What if comics, but not as a story progression.

I see them interesting because of the controversial what if revelations by introducing a different perspective like Ryu’s brother or family.

while ties that bind, Juri movie and SF2AM wasn’t that deep and interesting for Ryu that I favor as a character but I wouldn’t have problems with those being adopt or absorb in SF’s story because it feels more fitting than the rest I mentioned earlier. IMHO

I’ve been meaning to post this for awhile, but like usual, I tend to be forgetful

How is the first issue of SF vs DS?

I personally enjoyed it. Then again, Chun-Li is the main character of the story (as confirmed by @MattMoylan ), so my opinion is a little biased.

Retsu, Eagle, and a non-scarred Sagat were once considered for Capcom Fighting Evolution.

It is known.

I have always thought that a SF anime would be AWESOME! If Madhouse (or even Pierrot) animated these games, the SF anime would be a great success IMO.

Seasons and games: Final Bosses

Season 1: PreSF-SFI Sagat
Season 2: SFA1-SFA2 Akuma
Season 3: SFA3-SFII Bison
Season 4: SFIV Seth
Season 5: SFV Necalli/Bison
Season 6: SFIII Gill/Urien

I think the animation and art are lazy garbage that substitute lazy shitty 'tweening for “muh artistic style!” and that the story is just more over-dramatic trash between two DEEPLY uninteresting characters at this point (Ryu & Gouki).

Injecting more Vader/Luke dynamic into that relationship just makes it more lazy and uninteresting.
