The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

Probably broke one (or a few) of Daemos’s rules. But here is Act I, Scene 11 of ASF (and Chun-Li’s first appearence)

You’re kinda overestimating Urien’s place, Cestus. He was a Vice President that eventually moved up because Gill became an Emperor. The only one with any divine purpose is Gill, who’s so far above Urien it isn’t funny. Urien’s just the pissed off brother that has control on a lower level. Also, the main reason why Urien was ultimately denied is because he’s a mental case. All of them know what they’re getting with Urien.

The fact that Gill gave Kolin the opportunity to engineer Bison’s defeat through her own plans already establishes a mutual trust between them. One that is far more significant than **any **connection we’ve ever seen between Gill and Urien. Gill entrusted her to help right the problems of the world (Bison and Shadaloo) so he could remake it in his own image. Do you think he’d seriously risk using Urien for something as important as this? Hell no.

His only purpose was to provide the Eleven vessel and that was it. I seriously doubt Gill would find it disrespectful that his right hand would stand up for him if Urien went out of his way to smear dirt on his ideals. If anything, he’d realize how loyal she is, unlike his scheming brother who wants to overthrow him at every opportunity.

Another thing: Kolin had no issue telling Urien he was beginning to look too deeply into the plans she was making for Nash. He stopped her and told her he’d deliver the vessel, but that’s an example of her not conforming to anything he wants simply because he’s Urien.

ASF Helen is an illusion. When that’s finished, Kolin is all about reshaping the world to follow Gill’s ideals. They’re not supposed to be regarded as the same. Her win quote to Urien sounds like something they’ve (Gill and the Secret Society) likely all agreed on, anyway.

@Chun-Li_Forever

Nice! I enjoyed it.

Kolin bends the knee to Urien. She doesn’t like him but I guarantee she fears and respects him. In her world view the motherfucker is basically the Devil.

The other thing to realize is that Kolin knows Urien. She knows he gives no fucks about other people. She knows he can stomp her like a bug. Make no mistake, even if Kolin can compete against the World Warriors as a fighter (and let’s be honest, she’s probably not very high tier) all that means is that Urien would break her like a slim jim if he wanted to.

Kolin more than likely hates Urien…but she is absolutely terrified of him. You can see it in their interaction in the story mode. She bows to him, always addresses him as “Lord” and winces and shrinks away when he makes so much as a motion towards her. Unlike Gill, Urien acts like the cruelest of aristocracy. She knows her life has no value to him if he deems her worthless and that even her connection to Gill may not protect her if Urien gets pissed and decides to smash her skull in.

Ironically, we also know that Urien is more correct than Gill & the Illuminati. Their prophecy is bullshit. They’re dogmatic fools. Gill is self-deluded. Urien wants to burn all that shit to the ground and rule by military force. It’s a far more realistic outlook on the world. For all his “imbalances” (and oh man, Urien is definitely a tempermental bastard) he’s far more lucid and realistic than Gill. Gill is delusional. Gill is barreling towards failure.

Write this down from me: the logical direction of the SF Illuminati story is Urien’s SFIII endings. It is the downfall of Gill and the rise of Urien. He’s a more interesting character, just as powerful and a far more workable villain.

Kolin only respects Gill. She tolerates Urien because it benefits Gill. I don’t think she fears him. She is just smart enough to know that she is overmatched.

If she doesn’t fear Urien, she’s an idiot.

A healthy amount of fear is totally reasonable with someone that can smash you…and might not hesitate to do so.

Watch the video where they interact. The moment Urien raises an arm near her she flinches in fear.

Urien seems like the type of guy to crush your hand just for trying to give him a handshake.

Twelve is called Twelve for a reason Doctrine Dark

Tell me why they call him that!!

Urien didn’t like the first eleven prototypes and they were “discarded”.

Ah, I gotcha.

He was even prepared to crush Nash (Eleven) before Rashid stopped him.

Urien needs anger management. And a drink.

Nah, the Illuminati just needs to stop providing him with garbage and produce results that meet his expectations GOD DAMMIT! smashes a table

While I naturally agree with this, I recently came to terms with the idea that Gill must return as a boss one more time - if only to reintroduce his concept and story to a whole new generation.

We have Gill succeed at becoming a messianic public figure on the international stage for a while after 3S, with Alex by his side. We follow Gill’s 3s ending by some extent.

Then Urien’s take down and takeover takes place and we get a redux of his 3s ending.

I am thinking in terms of the new canon set since SF4 and making use of SF3’s story without repeating it completely.

This way Alex, Gill, and Urien all get time to develop even more since 3s.

Whatever the case, Urien must rid the world of Gill eventually and AU starts. SF7!

You know, I really hope the next game goes along with his 3rd Strike ending. I have a feeling they’d probably say that was a fake Gill in the pod, and probably say Gill left that phony there to see if Urien would follow through on its destruction.

I didn’t really pay much attention to Urien in SF3, as I just assumed he was an angry diaper man with brother issues.

But SFV has made my respect for the character go up x100. I like the fact that he’ll tell anyone to kiss his ass no matter who they are.

I totally agree.

Gill-as-boss must happen again. A set-up for his downfall.

Exactly.

Urien came here to give fucks and become the new leader of the Illuminati…and he’s all out of fucks.

Gill should be the final boss of SFV.

No four kings redux, just Necalli, then Gill and Sagat as a hidden boss.

No.

Bison is the boss of SFV. Get in line betch.

@Daemos

I’m not into fan fiction thing, it tend to give me the

But if we speak about essentially “fix” ASF keeping it as it is enriching the poor or improvable parts i will probably do these changes, mostly visual stuff

3D Models
-Replace ASF Kolin model with playable Kolin
-Replace ASF Ed model with playable Ed (of course if S2 Ed exist)
-If they ever fix Alex/Ken/whatever other crap face, update the new models in ASF too
-Change about every single shadaloo fluo azure uniform to dark gray/blue/green.
These douches (both slim/wide versions)

-replace that fucking demonic possessed puppet called ASF Mel with something that does’nt look creepy af lol

Costumes
-Change more often costumes depending on scenes, it can help give visual variety and accentuate some situations, under the first examples that come to mind
-Bison after Nash final kamikaze explosion having this

Spoiler

http://www.fightersgeneration.com/nz7/game/sfv/screenshot-feb2016-mbison-story.jpg

-Guile/Chun/Cammy appearing at least in one scene (Karin’s mansion?) wearing theyr formal uniform (Guile Standard, girls Story), keeping the more classic look for all other “special ops” parts
-Juri wearing this in the russian scene

Spoiler

-Probably some more here and there

Scenes
-Last Ryu v Bison after-duel sucked… will have been a bit more spectacular give it a waaay more epic cutscene
They could have played it giving a tribute to SF2tAM or SFVictory anime final Ryu vs Bison, maybe making it two rounds with 3 cutscenes (before-middle-after) to make that brawl legendary… ironically they gave much more pathos on the Necally one imho.

-Ryu vs Necalli should have happened in Shadaloo HQ rooftop, like in the first Cinematic Trailer (also dat Cape Bison at 1:04)…

Spoiler

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nFd7Iylj5A

it will have more sense have him there as ASF semi-Boss, with Ryu have to pass throught him to reach Bison (instead of NewZealand>Japan>Shaloo/Russia LOL).
Also there i liked there Ken-Chun-Cammy team vs Bison, with Nash stepping in as the ace of that group… only to all lose, but gaining time while Ryu is fighting Nec.

-The scene where Necalli run after half cast and they jump on a chopter before he reach them… it will have been insanely cool if the chopter was like 2-3 minute late and they show Necalli beat the living shit out of 3 or 4 middle tiers at the same time, until they somehow do a combined attack to knock him down/far (without even manage to truly damage him) and using that moment to jump on the chopter and fly away… it will have done an IMMENSE favor to Nec as perceived treat, and we will have seen some more action

-They teased Gief&Mika vs Alex&Laura, yet showed none of it, missed chance to add some needed action to ASF

-Ken could have got some more scene beating up somebody, even shada minions… also at some point i seen a Ken’s shiryuken cutscene that actually never end up in final ASF iirc

-They could have showed Birdie fight some more or do some feat of strenght, the only thing he did in the whole game is fight a couple of dolls

-They could have showed Azam beat up somebody like random Shadaloo soldiers, or at least show a bit of him vs Cammy that probably happened during Rashid vs Chun in NY. He’s clearly a fighter(even get in fight stance more than once) yet you see nothing of it

-the gigantic cardboard steel doors slammed like nothing by Karin/Chun, that shit was ridicolous looking.
Not that they can destroy these gates, more the cartoonish way they did it.

-for all the scenes where they’re involved give these poor shadasoldiers rifles and shit, see this powerful, world menacing army (with silly uniforms) run around without any weapon was ridicolous lol

-Lol at Nadeshiko being hidden inside Mika’s anus the whole time, give that poor char at least a couple of mute appearances in some scenes

That’s for now what i will like see changed, surely there’s a bunch of stuff i’m missing

@Cestus As much as you and I argue over shit, sometimes you scare me how much we agree with this stuff. Thanks for that.

@Chun-Li_Forever That was perfect! and exactly the kind of script edits I see in a director’s cut.

Tbh, i feel it’s the opposite, that you peoples are overstimating Kolin and how ancient style Illuminati hierarchy is

Urien act as a king because #2 or not, he’s used to be treated like that. And not only by strenght, but by simple social position.
He deserve the respect, currently he does’nt need to use violence to “gain” it
Violence happen because shatter skulls is his common reaction when he feel angry (and he’s ever angry), nothing about protect his status

In Illuminati’s world Urien is one of the most important and powerful peoples of the planet

Kolin is a very high level servant, but still a servant

She’s not Gill’s ally, Gill’s friend, Gill’s GF, Gill’s partner or whatever.
Even assuming Gill give her the redblue dick (i doubt), that make her his concubine at best

She’s a loyal and reliable Monica Lewinsky
And regardless of her professionalism at BJs, she never was in the position to talk to world leaders (even minor nations ones) on equal level

He for sure appreciate the quality of her work and trust her because he know her loyalty and abilities, for the actual support she can offer to his cause destiny
Mostly like an hunter appreciate and even like the best of his dogs (wich does’nt mean consider it human)

And probably most of hunters love theyr dog more

It’s nice that they used Berserk as source to tell Kolin’s story, because that exactly how Gill see her, as Griffith that consider Caska a dear, reliable tool (one of the very best, but one of the many) to build his magical prophecy world.
Plus some good part of narcissism, act benevolently with inferior beings make feel good… it’s what cool Gods are supposed to do, be nice and shit
If she die (break), well too bad.
Hopefully some tool as efficient and trust worthy will be avaible as soon as possible.

Only scenario Kolin can get Gill’s attention on personal level as individual being, is probably if (will not happen) she betrayal him switching her loyalty to Urien.
And not because Gill give two fucks about her feelings wise, but because see his most devoted worshipper deny his divine nature will be an untollerable act of blasphemy against God (himself)

In a fantasy scenario like that he will probably kill her faster than Urien will, lol (and anybody familiar with Berserk/Caska story know that death will still be a soft punishment, but SF is waaaay softer)
Or he can keep her alive just for dimostrate himself he can force her (as any other human) to worship his deity again

With Urien is kinda the opposite. He don’t trust him, he’s disappointed by him, he consider him a problem nuisance, but somehow he still recognize him some level of respect.
And mostly is even just self-respect (as Urien is the human brother of God, after all).

On personal level Urien is likely the only connection he feel (and maybe Alex after SF3, depend what Gill seen in him)
