Haven’t seen this in decades

Whoa, I never knew about this ending. Nifty!

@YagamiFire Re: the white hair stuff: Always dig your insight to eastern martial arts man. The insight is always appreciated!

Also about Rugal I remembered that original plan for him to copy techniques. I found it interesting and combined with how he doesn’t have a fav sport because he’s good at everything made me wonder if there was something more to him. Heck, the reason he even got Orochi power is cause of how he survived that gruesome eye-gouging. Aaah, I love Rugal so much, with SNKs plans for a media empire I want him to ELECTRIFY if they ever get to a KoF anime.

Re: Ariel Winter as Poison. I am okay with this. She’s already cute and endearing, this…this just makes my day <3

Damn all that Rugal stuff was incredible. It reminds me that if fighting games were like pro wrestling, Rugal and Geese would team and become a heel version of Mega Powers, demolishing all the other wrestlers until there is no one left, before turning on each other out of sheer boredom.

Who’s Miss Elizabeth in this scenario?

It’s the end of the month… Where’s this damn Ed trailer?

The best answer.

Another interesting thing about Rugal is that his hobby is resurrection. Hmmm…

With Verse releasing the souls trapped within him, it looks like Rugal, Igniz, Krizalid, and many others are now alive again. We saw that Ash has returned, so I’m really looking forward to the next KOF story.

So probably Rugal without Orochi and cybernetic hand? Along with two NEST Zero, Mukai and Magaki?

Those NEST guys may ploy already to kill each other secretly for power and revenge before going public again.

Delayed due to computer failure.

There are few fighting game characters that I hate more than Lucky Glauber.

He’s an acquired taste, so is the Sports Team in general (mainly Lucky and Brian Battler).

While I do like Lucky, I can understand why he’s hated. Black stereotype, basketball infused fighting style, cheap as hell, crazy voice and a super 90s look. Pretty deep rap sheet right there.

I’m kinda interested who you hate worse than him.

You mean delayed due to Capcom failure.

Everyone knows the answer to that question

Billy Kane.

And yeah with Verse bringing a bunch of people back (something I am 100% on board with!) I am hype for next KOF. Love me some Krizalid.

They need to be updated to be fit fighting examples of their respective sports.

Heavy D is fine already, being a boxer and all. Lucky should be updated to be more like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar(from Game of Death). Brian Battler should be updated to be like Bill Goldberg(the wrestler, and former football player).

@The_Shakunetsu

Overall i agree with everything, only thing i disagree with is the premise that any new treat must be locked as minor treat compared to Illuminati/Shadaloo

First because it kinda flat them all on the same box… take Mad Gear, S.I.N and Syndacate you mentioned

SIN for what we know could have been Shadaloo 2.0 if Seth was’nt weak, wich make it a way more advanced treat than “normal” crime org as the Syndacate.
The Syndacate itself “controlled Europe” wich make Mad Gear Gang look like kids games in comparision.
MGG look more something like the american gang C.Jack was part of

A thing typical of Capcom World is that (contrary to reality) orgs power is defined basically from theyr leader potential.

Shadaloo is identified by Bison’s power, even without destroy the HQ as in ASF, what will have been left?
Vega? Fang? Balrog? Anything will have been a waaaaay weaker version of Shadaloo

Illuminati are ancient and with links all over the world, but SF wise they became a relevant/known treat only in the last generation with Gill and Urien, because they’re powerful

Seth single handed made SIN being a treat because he was (relatively) powerful

Urien planned to create his own thing from zero (literally creating his army)

Gen was likely able to destroy Seth effortlessly like Bison did (and theorically be a potential treat to Bison itself), imagine if Gen was the boss of his own chinese mafia org… he will have been a better potential story arc villain than Seth lol

Or Necalli, imagine if he had his own cult of fanatics that summoned/resurrected him* and was actually well developed story wise to become the Bison-level treat of the prophecy… SFV events made a “coincidence” (Ryu and Sim being together) to avoid it

Capcom way of make orgs so linked to personal potential make things dynamic if they create new treats… is obvious (and hinted) many evil org exist in Capcom’s earth, all you need is make one of them become suddently more powerful because a new powerful leader took control of it

It can be a crazy dictator of a state, a mad scientist, a new terrorist leader, an ambitious criminal, a secret cult priest etc etc

Everything in SF is related to the individual ability, as good he is

Illuminati can be aware of all of them, but like they did for Shadaloo they let it be until they considered Bison a potential REAL treat (ASF)… as far we know they never did anything against them before SFV

Shadaloo itself had high and lows (directly connected with Bison’s high and lows) and never truly had the time to estabilish hegemony.
Like Raoh in HNK Bison likely know there are others that at some point will contend him the the world throne, but he doesn’t seem hurry to face them… see how we don’t see him do anything in particular to search/kill Akuma.
Bison (and so Shadaloo) is about SELF-strengthening, his plan is basically power-up himself to the point nobody will be able to stop him*, not find and destroy the competition

As you can see for Seth or Necalli in theory they can create out of nothing a new treat, but feel cheap to me… but i will still accpet them if they offer a new credible arc

But honestly i will prefer the Souther-Raoh approach, imagine a capcomesque Rugal that in the past fought to a draw Bison (think Akuma/Gen duel) and each agreed to go back on theyr path and postpone theyr final fight… somebody like that will be a cool af new Boss/treat, without need to shit on a past char SF3 style

  • i think Bison himself summoned on purpose Necalli, or did it accidentally and was amused by it

**and in SFV he’s the Boss without get close to that level, getting stopped at 1 moon

I’m 99% sure that Bison knew before hand the prophecy and the conditions required for Necalli’s return and set those up to unleash him on the world. But Necalli was only one cog in his machine and not necessarily central to its function.

I’m sure you could do it all on your own, but what if we collaborated on an unauthorized biography of Dictator and pitched it to Capcom?

I actually had a short story written about younger Bison in Thailand rolling with the Thai army to some ancient sites to research leads.

Couple points I made in it was that everyone in the vehicle with Bison knew it was impossible for a foreigner like him to have the rank he had…but noone questioned it and that made everyone particularly nervous around him.

And that his eyes were a dark grey where color usually was. Years before they’d been hazel. In years to come, they’d fade to entirely blank. For now…they were an unnerving gray generally kept hidden behind sunglasses

Yes! Bison has always given me the creepy soldier into the occult vibe, like a Raiders of the Lost Ark character from the SS meets Doktor Doom.

Nah I can’t. I need fabulous co-authors like @YagamiFire or @bakfromon to balance me and keep my fanaticism on a leash.

Not really a minor threat something that is just “expected” as a minor threat, because a something like rebellion for the Secret Society lets say there is a Urien’s personal Secret elite group(Syndacate for example) with the best of the best skilled warrior like 20.

The most selective in members feats the most effective the focus workforce is than those that belong to an organization with a lot of members, because it’s not always the strength in numbers or the group size does not matter but rather the strength in information, being unknown and workforce.

A small group that comes/originate from a bigger group can becomes easily threat and easily be hidden to infiltrate other smaller group or bigger group without awareness of their existence using their members and information.

Awareness is an important part to be establish, it always the biggest among the secret organization should be the most aware and the smallest is the most effective to be hidden or just a nuisance to avoid conflict tackled plot and agenda in the past.

Agree, It depends on the knowledge, awareness and skills of the leader, expectations towards a leaders potential plays always a huge part to distinguish effectivity of a leader.

A cult, gang and mafia can be easily be just treated as nuisance especially if their believe advantage is from a prophesy and divinity from ambiguity like a powerful warrior will rise to end suffering from the hands of a madman…

but that is different from something like Urien that knows the ways, strategy and methods that would make themselves easiest to stay out of the radar because of using previous knowledge gained while being the most dangerous enemy because of the awareness of how bigger secret organization work.

Agree. It’s a matter of surprised and awareness to make those effective, another important factor is resources.

Making Fang all of a sudden betrayed Bison would worked also by destroying Shadaloo from the inside, but it does not to destroy Bison himself. Which is many already probably speculated this.

The confidence of the Secret Society letting Bison to be like that comes from negligence and believed advantage that is based from ambiguous prophesy. I believe Bison is aware of that and took it as an advantage or Bison has more confidence to himself and psycho power that his plans is to succeed. IMHO

Same possible confidence that Rose had with Ryu, Bison to himself/his plans, Seth to himself/his plans, Necali to his nature and the people believed Necali would do to Bison.

In the end it’s the most strategic and calculative wins among them a battle of wits.
