I think the difference is in how they deal with “offensive” people. Eagle is a lot like 2I Dudley in that he can be downright MEAN when provoked, which fits with Eagle’s so-called brutal streak. Dudley as of SF4 is more annoyed at people like Birdie and Balrog than outright hostile.

Interestingly, Eagle doesn’t seem to mind Balrog in CvS2. He almost considers him a kindred spirit, which speaks volumes about how deep that violent streak runs.

Now I can safely say that the City in Chaos stage takes place in the same place on the globe as Metro City Bay stage. Both are located in the same position in the Northeastern section of North America

@You Interesting thing about Abigail, his dialogue doesn’t paint him as being the usual big, dumb guy. He’s not naive or overtly childish . I dunno, something about the directness in his quote to Alex and him taking Juri down a peg stick out to me; I expected things like “you looked so powerful, but little man break easy” or simple-minded monster speak “What?! You though you could hurt Abigail?! Abigail stronger than you! Strongest of all!”

Also, I love his backdash:

@Miðgarðsorm: Awesome stuff man! Thanks! Crap, I didn’t know the US version cut out so much dialogue, I thought only special match ups had text. Interesting special notes. didn’t expect Yun’s reaction, maybe he’s been paying attention to those reports, or he likes to listen to creepypastas and heard about Q hah. Given the “Robodekka -Q”, Robo detective references and him appearing at the scenes of murders, I’ve long thought Q was a good guy investigating the murders, but I have no real evidence for that (or well anything, heck I’ve gone from being certain he was white, to positive he was black, to thinking maybe tanned, back to white and now confused, so for something more complex as allegiance, I’ve left out in the cold hah)

Like I’ve said before, adding more to chew on would be a good direction for Q. Adding more details can be fun instead of keeping him at “what do we know? Absolutely nothing” I am glad that they’re pitting Viper against him. That should make for an interesting rivalry in the future.

@“Doctrine Dark” Yeah, that’s spooky. Here I’ve been thinking he’s just a man in a metal mask who’s on the weird side – a cyborg at most, but what if he’s something rather…out there, mixed with technology. Oooh how I love speculation.

If i was the one doing SFV, will be cool af do that one season before Q arrival they put him in stages (ALL, even the plane lol) watching the fight, with a random system that make him appear like once every 50 or even 100(?) matches

Imagine peoples online trading screen pics of him like “i spotted him in Brazil!” =)

Well, I’m bored. Here’s some draft prologues.
SAGAT

Spoiler

We open with a shot of the iconic Buddha statue from Sagat’s stage. The silence is broken by Sagat’s “TIGER UPPERCUT!”. We see an unnamed challenger fall to the ground.
SAGAT: Not bad, but you left yourself open. A tiger only needs one opening to deal a decisive blow. I learned that firsthand.
Cut to a flashback of Street Fighter 1. RYU approaches SAGAT in front of the statue.
SAGAT: What’s this? A lone dragon has come to challenge the Emperor of Muay Thai?
RYU: I have defeated all other challengers; I alone stand before you because I alone had the strength to make it here.
SAGAT: Very well. Let us see if you have the power to stand above a king!
SAGAT defeats Ryu in a fight. At the conclusion, he stands over a fallen Ryu.
SAGAT: Was that all? You may be strong, but there are plenty of guys like you all over the world!
RYU begins growling, a vocalization normally reserved for Evil Ryu. In a sudden burst of power, RYU rises from the ground to perform a Shoryuken. The attack strikes Sagat’s chest like a blade, creating a spray of blood. SAGAT lets out a defeat cry and falls to the ground. We then cut back to present day, with SAGAT clutching his chest scar.
SAGAT: I was entirely consumed by revenge after that day. It led me down a dark road.
The background briefly loses color, and is replaced by BISON standing in front of a Shadowloo symbol. It then returns to normal.
SAGAT: But I saw the error of my ways, and since then have walked a new path. One day, I shall fight him once more. Not for revenge, but so that both of us may grow from it.
A single slow clap begins in the background. FANG steps out of the crowd.
FANG: I must say, that story is quite touching. But any book that betrays Lord Bison shall receive an abrupt end!
SAGAT: Hmph. A second-rate fighter could never hope to defeat me. You will fall to my fist, as many others who fight with empty fists have done before.
SAGAT defeats FANG. After the fight, he disappears in a cloud of purple smoke.
FANG: You may have succeeded this time, tiger, but Shadowloo is forever! You will never escape from your crimes!
SAGAT: Perhaps. But I can overcome them, one day at a time.
Cut to several months later. SAGAT is standing over the ruins of the Shadowloo base from ASF.
SAGAT: A fitting end to a hollow ambition. If he has finally fallen, that can only mean one thing…
SAGAT: Ryu, the time has come to show me what lies behind your fist once and for all!

EAGLE

Kanzuki Estate, evening. EAGLE is walking along the bridge when he is approached by BIRDIE.
BIRDIE: Oi! Just where in the bloody hell do you think you’re going? This ‘ere’s private property!
EAGLE: Indeed, a high-class event for refined gentlemen such as myself. As for you…
BIRDIE: You tryin’ to say something, mate?
EAGLE: I think I’ll let my sticks do the talking!
EAGLE defeats BIRDIE, knocking him into the water.
EAGLE: About time you took a bath, disgusting pig.
As Birdie is climbing out of the water, KARIN approaches.
KARIN: You must be Mister Eagle. I’m Karin Kanzuki, head of the Kanzuki Zaibatsu. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
EAGLE: Same here. Please excuse that unsightly display.
KARIN: To the contrary, I’m quite impressed with your martial prowess. Would you care to spar?
EAGLE: It would be my honor to dance with a lady such as yourself.
EAGLE and KARIN fight.
EAGLE: What a fight! I expected nothing less from a Kanzuki!
KARIN: Likewise, I knew you were special when you gave the current reigning US Champion a challenge all those years ago. Speaking of him…
Cut to EAGLE and KARIN approaching KEN and his family at the party.
EAGLE: Oh ho! Ken Masters! My, how you’ve grown! With a wife and child! If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were getting soft.
ELIZA: Oh dear…
KEN: Soft, huh? Why don’t you pull out those sticks of yours and show me how hard you are?
EAGLE and KEN fight.
EAGLE: You never fail to be a good sport, Masters. Come to think of it, where is your friend?
KEN: You mean RYU? He’s out there somewhere, conquering the Satsui No Hado.
EAGLE: Fascinating. I hope to find him again sometime.
SHIBASAKI approaches.
SHIBASAKI: Is everything to your liking, Master Eagle?
EAGLE: This party is quite excellent. I haven’t had a thrill like this for a long time. Maybe I’ll travel a bit more now, catch up with some old friends. Thank you.

RETSU

We start in India, where RETSU is locked in battle with ORO. The Sennin knocks RETSU down with a ki projectile.
ORO: Retsu, it really is a shame you never took to mysticism; it would give your style some much-needed perspective.
RETSU: Perspective? Is that what you’re blabbering on about now, Sennin? It’s easy to have perspective when you’re detached from the world!
ORO:…
RETSU: My apologies, I did not mean to offend…
ORO: No, you’re quite right. Many people limit their ability to progress with earthly distractions. It is my focus that allowed me to become a Sennin. One day, perhaps you too will reach that state. Until then, farewell.
ORO leaves. DHALSIM arrives on the scene
DHALSIM: Retsu.
RETSU: Oh, it’s you. Come to lecture me on the mysteries of the universe?
DHALSIM: You are troubled. Train with me a while, and perhaps you might find the answers you are looking for.
RETSU: If it’s a fight you want, who am I to refuse?
RETSU and DHALSIM fight.
DHALSIM: Your power is most impressive, but there is something missing.
RETSU: I haven’t had a fight like that in ages! Not since…
DHALSIM: You must go to him. Both of you have an answer the other seeks.
RETSU: You know what? I think I’ll take your word on that.
Cut to Forgotten Waterfall, where RYU is training.
RYU: Retsu?
RETSU: There you are! Not exactly a convenient location, let me tell you.
RYU: I have to train. To find what lies beyond…
RETSU: Well, don’t let me stop you. Show me what you learned from Gouken.
RYU: Very well.
RETSU and RYU fight.
RETSU: You’ve really improved since the last time I saw you! I guess all that wandering did you good after all.
RYU: Even now, I still find myself short of an answer.
RETSU: That happens from time to time. Just find the power to move forward, and you’ll leave your troubles behind.
RYU: The power … to move forward?
RETSU: There you go! Keep at it, and you’ll never need to look back.
RYU: Thank you Master Retsu. What will you do now?
RETSU: Me? I think I’ll take a leaf out of your book, kid. Travel the world, make some friends who don’t have their heads in the clouds.

Nah man, get your facts straight. Abigail has 20 attribute points! Which means he’s stronger than Bison and equal to Akuma!
Psycho Power is nothing compared to Abigail’s Vroom Vroom!

I was always curious about characters’ win quotes and the like. They’re a simple way to learn a lot about a character’s personality and sometime also story.
I didn’t even know that the Japanese edition of Third Strike had character specific win quotes rather than generic ones, which tells me that my fear that there was a lot of untranslated stuff hiding in the shadows was true. Now I wonder if the Alpha games and previous SFIII games had the same deal.

Are these quotes going to be translated in the new plot guide? This sounds like a lot of interesting flavour.

Get a load of this:

Abigail increases in size when he goes into V-Trigger, and his muscles become a lot bigger. People on NeoGaf have found that the Abigail shown in the trailer is not actually regular Abigail but the considerably bigger V-Trigger Abigail. Here’s the difference:

Basically Abigail looked considerably bigger and more disproportionate in his trailer compared to his normal state in the game, which didn’t help his reception to a lot of people.
