when the game comes out i’m sure people will find a way to combo into charge moves. If sakura is in the game her ex tatsu is a good move to do and tag cancel. I’m sure you should be able to charge to at least an ex move. Better yet Her ex DP…man that move takes for ever to finish…

You can probably do a few charge ex moves after doing a tag… like Ken or Chun’s multi hitting moves into Ryu’s e fireball… but it’s kinda pointless considering you can do a jump in combo into whatever. Besides for the most part I think these chargeable moves are strictly a feature for casual players.
Might be able to use them for mind games, charge a fireball instead of releasing it when someone expects, so if they, for example try to dash through, you catch them off guard and release it as they get out of the dash.
Bit of a risk, I was thinking Ryu’s charge would be good, especially for people who jump the second they see something… but if they don’t jump you’re just opened yourself to a jump in + tag combo when you eventually release the super/ex.
Situational good and only for certain characters, I still think this is primary a causal “look at me unleash a cool move” feature but it also doesn’t really hurt the game on a competitive level for the most part. But who knows once we see the final package…
Hey, nothing is “scrubby” or “casual” at high level. You’re opponent loves to dash in through fireballs? Charge it and release the EX late to catch him. Even if it whiffs, you can use the saved meter to Tag Cancel it to make it safe.
IIRC you can’t tag cancel fireballs as of now.

IIRC again I believe Seth mentioned you couldn’t do it during his commentary of the NCR regionals. He did say it wasn’t final, just you couldn’t do it atm, I haven’t seen a gameplay vid since to show they’ve changed that decision.
You sure I remember Seth saying you can tag cancel any normal(includes air normals) and special attacks

The real question is if Tech Rolls have invincible frames. In Tekken, tech traps exist because Tekken characters can you put in a meaty wakeup scenario where you can’t block. I’d would be more interested if Capcom didn’t make tech rolls invincible to mixups. Ibuki could vortex in a completely different way due to this mechanic.
