Why is it that people can jump out of neck breaker or do other things?
If you’re playing online, it’s probably rollback. I don’t know why the game does this, but online is fucked up.
Who are people using with Ibuki? I think I want to use her 2nd with Kazuya, Jin, or possibly Rufus (kind of worried about grapplers with him and Ibuki though) on point. Have people found an Ibuki team they really like?
Im experimenting with hwoarang but im not getting as much damage as I would like with him.
I have been using ibuki with kazuya. Tag combos are great.
Me: Ibuki and Akuma with Akuma on point. (Mainly to build meter and getting Ibuki inside)
Anyone discovered how useful her spin kick is yet? It has the same exact range as Ryu’s cr mk but has faster startup and is safer being at 0 on hit and -1 on block while doing the same damage (60). You can use it as a poke anytime since it is Ibuki’s fastest normal with one of the farthest range. It has more range than st mk, and almost as much as cr mk. From far range you can cancel spin kick into mk tsumiji or raida dash. Using mk tsumiji from far away will hit them if they push buttons after the spin kick, so if you get them to not push buttons, then you can do raida cancel dash and get in for more pressure. It is really fast and looks hard to react to! In a combo you can combo only into lk tsumiji or ex tsumiji from far away though so I only use them when I hit confirm into it.
Reverse spin kick also has some serious range. It hits as far as Vega’s st HP which is his attack with the most range although it is 11 frame startup. On hit from far away you can safely get in close with hammer kick since you are at +4 on block, and that slow move hits, well then you are at +7.
Ibuki’s footsies are really good now (compared to sf4). She has excellent AA options and good tools for footsies. Her biggest problem that I find is that cr mk is slow being at 7 frames and is very punishable being at -5 on block, so her long range low attacks are a problem. However on hit, it is great cause you can cancel it on reaction to st hp X launcher for great damage.
I’ve been really enjoying using Vega along with her on point.
EX raida has armor break and allows for getting in

Not just that but its unblockable if your opponent is standing.
Does it have invulnerability frames? If it does that can be a good reversal.

I dont think any of her moves have any invincibility frames. Is it safe to say that here only wake up options are to roll, block and backdash?
cross cancel (8 frames), backdash (8 frames), agemen (upper body only, 11 frames), yoroitoshi (16 frames), cross art (9 frames).
Im and struggling to get combos started with her. Her active frames on jump kicks suck. You can use lk>mk target combo and that does lock people down but i cant seem to get it on cross up because sometimes i hit the wrong direction if it does or doesnt cross up. Also having to hold forward on target combo is frustrating for the same reason. The only offense I can seem to get is her jab harassment and sometimes reverse spin kick into overhead. I get the overhead to connect a lot but I cant seem to get the target combo reliably after that. I love her ground pressure. She is fast and scary. I do connect with plenty of pokes. But I cant seem to get damage out of it.
I also cant seem to get a cross up lk off a neckbreaker follow up no matter what I try. Any tips to how to follow up damage with her? It seems like people get up for free on her when i’m playing.
Meanwhile Im playing her with Raven who i can get big damage without issues because he has a normal jump kick. Raven is doing all the work and I have played him for less than a week and Ive played Ibuki for over a year
You can literally win games using jab, mk, hk tsumuji over and over if they don’t have a reversal, are stuck in the corner and don’t have meter. It is a 3 frame punish on block making for an endless frame trap. You guys should not be having trouble with pressure at all, ibuki’s pressure in this game is ridiculous.
I dont have a problem with pressure. As I said I think her pressure is great. I have a problem getting into TC 4 or 6. Which is where all her good damage seems to come from.
Oh, sorry, I dunno why I responded that way. Haha. Generally if my initial push to get damage doesn’t work I’ll do jab / tsumuji pressure until I land a hit and immediately launcher, let my partner take care of the damage. I play my partner the same way, if my big hits don’t work (without giving up frame advantage) I switch into pressure mode and let ibuki do launcher follow up damage.
Also how are you comboing this?
It doesn’t combo. If they’re blocking I use HK tsumuji to frametrap them, if they aren’t blocking I use launcher or MK tsumuji to start vortex(depending on how trigger happy they are with their reversals of course)
I’m generally worried about the way she can get in, in the first place in terms of footsies. For example, grappler characters like Hugo is slow as heck, but has somthing like his cr.mk would out poke her near mid-range, similar to Rolento. Or zangief, I woulden’t know what to do to get in. There needs to be a stragety/match-up discussion for her like in the other ibuki forums. (SSF4AE)
