No, I don’t and yes they are different foot prints. The one linked below should work fine. Its an equivalent foot print. Mind you, these are NOT easy to solder the pitch is small. I definitely bridged a few during testing.
Got my silencers from PAS, they work pretty well. Similar to the feeling of the FA version. I also ordered a two sets of 6 from shadaloo.eu for spare/to try.
That’s funny, I actually just got my set from PAS last night and installed them. They’re solid, but I may actually go back and order the extra thick version to try out. I’ve been playing on GamerFingers for years now (which are still installed in my custom hitbox TE), and apparently I’m much more accustomed to a bit of extra squish on my button presses than I realized. I’m happy enough with them for now though. I’m using the FA version in my 30mm button as well.
That’s a trip! Mine was suppose to arrive on Monday but some odd reason it arrived sooner than expected. I want to try GamerFingers though they look sold out everywhere! I also use the FA version on my 30mm. Let me know how the thicker version feel. Do you currently have them on your smoke Sanwa’s?
I wanted to do a template with Jasens VLX Sega 2P template but i just can’t open the file. Neither with GIMP nor Paint.net. GIMP always says “can’t open CMYK files” or somesuch. I’ve searched for a solution for at least 3 hours, and tried several but nothing. How do i work with this template?
Smoke Sanwas currently have 12x PAS normal 24mm silencers and 1x FA 30mm silencer (for the record, I honestly find the FA version to be of noticeably greater quality but no 24mm so alas). I’ll be putting in an order soon for the thick versions and we’ll go from there.
I bit the bullet a couple years back when GamerFinger was new to the scene and picked up the full 11-set of 24mm for HitBox (with MX Red). They’re pretty awful if you’re a slide player (just too much surface area on the cap), but for punching inputs straight down they’re excellent. I’m honestly really hoping Hori’s new Falcon/Hayabusa buttons start coming out in legitimate quantities to outfit with, because the non-slip grip + sculpted sides make a hell of a difference, at least on the 30mm versions I played with at NCR.
I agree with FA silencers>PAS silencers… Some of the silencers from PAS weren’t cut precisely. When I first put them on, it had a nice rebound to it. After a few hours, it felt a little mushy and lost that “bounce”. It does a good job of cutting that sharp clack though. My 30mm FA silencers endured many hours and still retained a good bounce. I will be receiving my Shadaloo.eu version soon. Hopefully their of better quality!
FA silencers are my favorite ones too out of the 3 Pas ones, Hori silent Kuro and Silent Sanwas I’ve tried, I like them best in screw-in Sanwas because the activation feels the same but the plunger has a bit more travel so they feel less mushy and still very quiet, the travel doesn’t really affect me unless I’m mashing buttons.
Just got myself VLX Hayabusa, amazing build quality and it definitely feels more premium than TE2+ despite being cheaper. Anyway coming from a TE2, the VLX Hayabusa feels hollow, it’s as if theres a huge empty space underneath the panel, is there something I can put inside to dampen the hollow sound it makes?
That’s the best part of the VLX, that hollow sound when pressing the buttons
I’ve never played on a real Taito Vewlix, but I’ve played on the clones and it’s the same exact sound. It’s music to my ears! (just not the other halfs or the kids at 11pm at night :D)
It’s kinda hard to tell if the real Vewlix has the hollow sound because Japanese arcades are noisy as ****, but I can say that the cabinet is bigger and sturdier (as expected).
Well here it is folks!!! Awesome craftsmanship from @“Jasen Hicks” and the artwork is a thing of beauty @RageousX
I present my JCC’s VLX panel courtesy of Jasen and artwork by RageousX!
OG VLX getting a Vewlix L colour scheme on an Astro City layout! (oxymoron at its best, but I love the OEM look, even though the button layout isn’t in the layout that the stick is named after :D)
Honestly, if you didn’t know what the original CP looked like, these could seriously pass as OEM, they are that well made.
Once again, thanks to Jasen and RageousX, this is absolutely awesome. When you get back from your deployment, I can pretty much guarantee I’ll be getting the OG and Diamond colour schemes
Yeah shipping was very quick… took me a while to figure out the spacers, I was scratching my head since I had extra washers and extra nuts so I thought I didn’t do it properly
My only little “complaint” (if you could call it that) is due to the vinyl artwork being so thin, you can see through where the screw threads are. Because the original VLX artwork is a little thicker, those you can’t see through where the threads would be. Again not a complaint, just an observation.
I honestly couldn’t be happier! Just in time to post on instagram for #fightstickfriday
