The HoN/DoTA Thread

I remember having a Mortred with HoD and 3 Battlefurys’

ans. to question 1:
you can farm safely and level up 1st early in the game. very crucial for some heroes.

ans. to question 2:
yes, orbs doesn’t stack except for skadi in range heroes. why? because the slow in skadi in range heroes is considered debuff and not an orb effect. so you can stack skadi with one more orb effect item. e.g. skadi+satanic, but only on range heroes. so getting Manta, Skadi, or Satanic/Mljonir on Spectre is a bad idea, iirc, only the lifesteal would effect but you can still get mirrors with the activated manta and lightning armor from the activated mjolnir but no slow from skadi, mana burn and chain lightning from mjolnir.

ans. to question 3:
this is not the best build of omni but it works with me. i usually get arcane first, then sny or radiance then heart. i have no comments on your build, if it works for you, then why not.

go to dotaportal or dota-allstars for more info or watch replays of league games, you can get a lot of ideas on how to build, play, strategies.

LoL. Nice crits but no attack speed. I remember having a Void with Madness, Threads, 3 Furys and Butterfly. GG for the opposing team.

Thanks for the info, the problem with dota-allstars is that they all have Necromicon for Omniknight. What’s a good build for Spectre?

As for motred, i wasn’t able to get BoT, just treads so that was the attack speed. Didn’t really need the attack speed though because one hit was just massive. What i like also about the BF’s is that it gives you a good amount of HP/MANA regen.

I like getting diffusal for Spect. Fun fun fun

anyone playing today?

Diffusal Blade is practically mandatory on her due to her images. Upgrade to Manta after you use the purge charges.

when i play spectre, i usually carry. so, my core item would be radiance and build on from there. really depends on the game though.

It’s very situational, and should only be used in certain lanes. These lanes are:

Both sides Mid.

Scourge Bottom

Sentinel Top

And that’s it. You’re using it to stay close to your tower. You want to block enough so that the other teams creeps get close to your tower, BUT DON’T ACTUALLY GET HIT BY YOUR TOWER. Unfortunately idiots everywhere don’t understand this, and seem to think that blocking all lanes until the other creeps get hit by the tower is what needs to be done; even though they have no idea why.

When the enemy creeps get hit by your tower, it actually pushes the lane back to THEIR tower, defeating the entire purpose of the block. That’s why you should never block with Sentinel Bottom and Scourge Top. Most people are idiots and just do it anyway, without any idea why they’re doing it.

Stack Battlefuries with every melee character.

Even if you lose, you will still win in LOLZ.

imo.

Radiance Spectre is so 48b.

wraiths treads diffusal, to heart to manta is usual win.

But dirge and storm are so overpowered.

7Nite.Suupaa on west, Goomba. on Garena.

i agree

no place in .59 for hard carries that farm all game.

if you’re playing spec, you have to make sure you’re useful by mid game.

I disagree, with the right group makeup, you can still hard carry with Naix by farming.

Anyone still play this shit, look me up on East! name: Galactic_Dude

^_-;

The thing is Nai’x can actually kill mid game and has his pseudo-bkb.

What’s a good buy for NA? I usually try to rush a Dagon but what if you want him to be decent even when the game goes on for a long time? S&Y, Bfly, AC?

^_-;

with na, i just like a couple of circlets with tango/clarities and then i get bottle/boots/dagon with tps.

If it’s a scrim, honestly you’re just trying to screw over their carries and pressure them while your carries get strong.

For pubs, NA is pretty much useless lategame, especially if you go for early dagon. I i think you can survive and continue owning with boots/bottle/2 nulls/dagon/tps as long as you go with a secondary stunner

Naix is not a hard carry. He’s useful all throughout the game.

Spectre, Void, Anti-Mage and the like are all pretty much useless in mid to high level play (assuming the teams are picked, and not randomed).

They’re still fun for dick around games .

Wtf, last version (.58) Spec was considered top 5 if not #1 hero. This version not so much, but she is still up there and almost always banned.

Void sees a little play. Anti, none.

Damn thinking about it, TB once feared a few versions ago is never picked.

Spec was strongest in 6.56. The metagame has shifted from then, and the focus has gone to…well, it’s gone to the strangest combos i’ve seen in recent DOTA. Chars like DK, Shadowfiend and Brood are picked over Spec. Void almost always NEVER gets picked anymore. Spec still gets picked here and there, but it’s very rare. Terrorblade is still picked because he can jungle, and because he’s useful mid game now.

This is pretty much a great time for DoTA, since everybody’s experimenting, because a lot more combinations work than ever before. (Remember the 4/4? :bluu:)

i just kind of started playing this with my friends in casual LAN games (3v3, 4v4)
the only hero i can currently play is DK, any thoughts on who to try next?

Skeleton King. You have life leech, and crit as your skills. Also you get a free death. The only hot key you have to worry about is T. Just stay away from NA or AM
