yeah. i think i did. Most guides provide a very versatile kind of explanation regardless of how the entire game would turn out to be. But most of the doing would really come from the player himself.
Are there any Dota tournaments in Europe aside from ENADC? are there links as to where can I download and watch the replays?
I don’t really think guides are overly useful. We all play streetfighter and as such, we have the ability to analyze whatever game we’re playing. Just bring that mentality to DOTA and you should be fine. I hate following the ‘x item is best for x hero’ since the game ebbs and flows so much. There’s too many variables to say any item is best. Just learn the heros, learn the items, and choose according to what you feel is right.

It’s true, and just like street fighter, let’s not forget the importance of adjusting your gameplay to best combat which character your going up against.
Dota imo is more about being able to adjust and come up with different gameplans to best combat your opponents than it is having a set gameplan and just sticking with it.

Can I get some tips on how to play Rhasta? He’s probably my favorite hero out of the ones I’ve tried out. Usually the item build I go for is:
Eul’s Scepter [seems way good now that it doesn’t have charges]
Aghanim’s Scepter
Boots of Travel
Usually I start with Boots of Speed, Tangos, TP, maybe a Robe of the Magi if I can afford it. If I’m top/mid, I’ll pick up a void stone when I can afford it, and head back once I can start getting more pieces for Eul’s. Then I’ll slowly build a Soul Booster and pick up the Mystic Staff. Usually by this point its late game and the only other item I get is Boots of Travel.
I have a feeling that this is all wrong though. I’ve noticed that a lot of people start by buying Circlets/Bracers. Can someone tell me the benefits of this over starting to piece together Eul’s Scepter right away?
Some people recommend Blink Dagger but it seems unnecessary in setting up wards if you have a Eul’s, and I try not to get to a point where I have to blink away to survive. Refresher Orb seems nice too, but it only seems useful late game where you have a strong enough mana base to take advantage of it, and after Eul’s/Aghanims I usually don’t have enough $ to put one together.
For Skills I usually go Shackles, Lightning, Voodoo then Stats. I used to max Lightning first but I realized Rhasta doesn’t have enough mana to really be using that skill early game.

You need to play it teamplay oriented. Best disabler needs to be ganking or staying alive disabling multiple threats in team battles.
The items themselves arent bad, maybe the order. Try to boost Rhastas crappy hp first with nulls/bracers or a quick point booster. Then it depends on how well you can farm to either rush BoT or Eul. Both will help you farm more plus the extra movespeed Rhasta desperately needs. Aghanims scepter is needed late game because lvl3 wards kinda sucks when everyone is lvl +18, but try to get the soul booster quick also.
Max FL asap as it is your farming and killing skill (or killstealing lol).
then Rhasta might not be your hero yet as it requires not only micro skill but common teamplay sense and game pace control.

if you have shitty support, expect to go down first every time
he needs defensive items before the big stuff so he can shackle and help out
i used to love playing rhasta, then it started pissing me off
i have before, but i usually play on a lan center, and they dont allow most programs outside reg wc3. I ninjad LC though

early game his heal is imba, but thats not enough to ban him imo, its probably ppl rushing refresher for the double stun. All i know is that in team oriented battle with warlock, the other team dies fast bcuz of link, stun, slow. I think thats imba enough.
Just a great all round character. High base damage, great attack animation = last hit machine. Shadow Word is just ridiculously imba early-mid, plus RoC is a great initiate. He works just as great solo as babysitting.

I’ve always been a noob with some flashes of brilliance (unfortunately against other n00bs like me) but I still don’t know what makes Queen of Pain insanely good. I often see in league matches people taking her out which implies she’s zomg imba ban her!!111one!!.. what exactly is it?
She’s just really good all around. She has a blink, a slow, and an AOE that does retarded amounts of damage at level 4 (300), low mana cost that doesn’t increase with level up (140), and retardedly fast cooldown (10 seconds). Hell, her level 4 Scream of Pain (her AOE) does more damage than her level 1 Ult.

QOP is a whore of the highest order.
Mainly because of blink + scream. It’s so impossible to lane against her, she blinks out of any situation, she has a massive damage aoe nuke, and a slow. She can chase down any low hp hero, and escape from almost anyone.
Once she gets a Linkens, she’s pretty much unkillable in most situations, which means she’ll outlevel you and outfarm you.
I haven’t played her after the nerf. She still gets a lot of play however.
My new pet peeve is spider… such a retarded fucking character. You need a well co-ordinated team with stuns to take her down… and then she gets a BKB.
