It …actually is. Mjol is probably the most used item I see nowadays on sniper. Maelstrom early is one of the best farming/damage items he can get, and the eagle is nice agi. Sniper’s IAS is high enough that headshot procs don’t even matter. You can have Skadi and Mjol, and they’ll all work together just fine. Skadi will not proc if mjol procs, but it works the rest of the time, so it’s still worth it. Deso is alrite, i’d rather have skadi. Desolator is more of a team item that someone like a DPS int can get, not really worth it on sniper because of his high attack speed. The debuff stays on for a couple of seconds anyway, so putting it on chars with high attack speed is a waste of an orb. It might be worth it if you’re able to farm it really early, but then you’re probably skipping out on travels or the mjol.

I guess the attack speed and damage and a 250 chain lightning that proc’s 25% of the time doesn’t help someone with an awesome attack speed. Lets also forget that the lightning shield is an AOE nuke that goes off just for touching the sniper. Yeah, lets forget about all that and say the item sucks just so you can follow in the foot steps of a dumb fuck. Yeah lets do that.
Well it might not be the most optimal DPS, especially since it (occasionally) uses up your orb effect, which won’t go to (a little bit of) waste on say, a lifesteal item (Satanic being the best for him in the long run). (Parenthesis)
Can you crit with Buriza and proc Mjolnir in the same shot? I’ve never had that happen… AM I just unlucky?
So BoT + Mjolnir + Skadi >>> Bfly + Buriza + Lothar’s for Sniper?

Nothing on this planet would convince me that life steal is effective on sniper. I’d rather get a manta style any day.
(waits for people that have never gotten a manta style on any hero once in their life to show up and tell me how bad it is)

I do pretty good with Manta on Tinker and Razor. Do you believe in getting Manta for heroes who already have copies? Like Phantom Lancer, Slithice, Chaos Knight?

And on Naga. Chaos Knight doesn’t really need it, but it’s useful. His copies from his ult are BEASTLY, they’re not the usual illusions, and they really benefit from stats. I’d prefer three beast illusions with hearts rather than 2 strong illusions and 3 weak ones with manta.
It’s a must have item for Naga, PL, and Tinker though.
As for it’s usefulness on sniper and Razor, those are really situational imo. They’re decent as long as the other team doesn’t have a lot of AOE.
I like manta on pl and on naga but I am pos there are better items you can farm for ck that would be worls better than manta

I don’t like manta on sniper… but thats just me. I’ve got pwned up by it a few times tho back in the day. I’d rather go for a bunch of other items.

Oh yes, I have a fun replay for those who were questioning techies. The replay shows a couple of things:
a.) I’m probably the worst DOTA player ever
b.) A fed troll can dominate everything
c.) But can’t win a game without teamwork
d.) A techies who knows what he’s doing can turn around games.

Yeah sorry, meant sniper or RAZOR. I’d get it on Tinker almost everytime. And if it’s a survivability issue with razor, i’d still rather get a heart or cuirass.
Manta is alright for sniper, thing is, you only mana burn when you don’t head shot.
But Manta’s like a 1minute linkens…(or w/e the cd on manta is).
There’s a nice chart on dota allstars with list of stacking orbs and what not. (only ranged stacking orb is lifesteal + skadi).
