Clinks would be 3rd IMO or possibly tied with Kardel. Razor IMO really is the most starter friendly hero. Techies, i don’t know… everyone says “techies noob”.
speaking of techies, can the hero really be used and taken seriously in high comp? Is there a possible way besides planting mines in FoW? Like giving him a ginsoo, ruby, necro, and using Remote mine as some kind of gheto nuke? There are a handful of dedicated techies players that are trying to do this, i’ve seen one try experimenting a Manta, radiance, and ginso… didn’t really work out that well.
I think it’s best to increase his support potential instead.
I hate fighting the enchantress so fucking much =(… Unless you have 2 heros that can rape her she usually really holds people back especially if she has a good hero beside her.
any hero without an escape ability will probably suck for a newbie, Avernus is a good newbie hero since he like, never dies.
Techies is mostly a “fuck you up if you’re not careful/defend the base” hero. He should pretty much never be used offensively, mostly he should stall for time and kill heroes/creeps near your base.
I’d say sniper is the most noob friendly hero, or any ranged hero. Most starters generally arent used to using all their skills. Pretty much any hero with 2 skills and 2 passives would make a good starter in my opinion. Of course this doesnt apply to Naix because all the noobs I’ve seen use him are horrible
I suggested he play drow and/or sniper first, also to start out with Centaur for melee characters… Centaur has a fuck ton of HP so its ok for newbs to be somewhat careless when learning melee.
im going to try and be on late tonite…oh and i got my first Crow + Dagon kill last night, it was quite amusing but i was sad it said the character was killed by me, not the crow :{
I think the beast build for Storm Spirit, aka Raiden, is to get one or two Null’s and then get a Maelstrom and then either work to finish Mjollnir or get a Crystalis and then Burize, if game lasts long enough get a Skadi. Skadi stacking with Mjollnir ftw.
Enchantress is a fucking whore. I remember i was using her, at level 6 I got hooked into Pudge + Gondar, I managed to hit wisps before Pudge hit ulti, I survived devour + shuriken + hits, I got out there with like 20 hp…
As for techies, I always play battle techies. He’s almost fucking useless, I try and maximize his battle potential, instead of having a level 11 techies when everyone else is 20+, planting 2000 mines, only to have them destroyed by wards/gem/book. I usually get a euls first, then bot, then just farmfarmfarmfarmfarm. At the end, you should have like guinsoo/boots/butterfly/skadi. I’m usually a horrible farmer, but even I manage to get that shit with techies. In team battles, you’re rushing to plant as many stasis traps as possible. That shit is imba as fuck. You should be planting mines at known escape routes and the usual gank spots.
Techies is a whore. Even when you counter him with gems/wards… he defends a base SO well. Not to mention, I can’t even count how many times I’ve pushed a base only to have techies planting mines behind the group as we run out. Guinsoo - stasis? Gaaaaaaay!
Just tried Dota recently, it’s kinda fun, tho I don’t really know wtf I’m doing yet. I’ve played maybe 6 complete games, and 5 of them I won cuz my team was good and I played Clinkz. For some reason Clinkz is really easy. Windwalk is amazing on offense AND defense, nothing like walking past an entire mass of creeps, turning on fire arrows and strafe and just owning the poor ranged hero shooting in the background.
When I first played I had no idea what to buy… now the first things I buy are power treads, sange+yasha, then save for butterfly, which I’ve only managed to get like twice. It’s probably a noob strat but I really don’t know what to go for after that. Maybe next time I’ll go for a Maelstrom instead of sange/yasha, I dunno, any tips?
The last one I’ve played my team wasn’t so good and we lost, but it was a long battle. I got randomed into Troll Warlord and I tried him out, he’s actually kinda fun. At first you grind with him at a distance but later on he does tons of damage with berserking up close and with cranium basher he keeps enemies stunned till they die.
I’d love to play a few matches with you guys, but keep in mind I’m a total noob so don’t get pissed if I end up feeding, especially if we random, tho with Clinkz I usually kill a lot more than I get killed. I’ve only played full matches with those 2 chars, so with anyone else I’m utter nub.
Clinkz, your build is good, but you need to sub out power treads for boots of travel. Power treads is always the inferior choice. Only person who can use it is Furion. The tele that BoT is just too important to stop pushes, to farm, and most importantly for clinkz, to get the movespeed you need to chase.
I don’t think you can use maelstrom with Clinkz, as the orb effect might cancel out fire arrows. Sange and Yasha is ok, because the orb is a proc, and will only proc once in a while. If you’re looking for another item, try buriza.
Also in pubs/noob games, the best build for troll is usually two bashers and a butterfly. A good build is also pure DPS, sometime like s&y/mjolnir/butter or buriza.
TDA is so garbage… people going 0-10+ in like the first 30 mins. We had a levi last game who went kraken/anchor as his build, and did nothing but neutral in the beginning of the game. Unfortunately, there was a BS on the other team, so whenever he dropped below half, BS would just rnu up and kill him. So fucking lame.
Yes Treads are worse than boots of travel but only on certain heros. Clinks doesn’t need boots of travel because his windwalk allows him to move around the map quick enough and the port isn’t even necessary for clinks.
On almost any other hero I would take BoT over Treads though, ALMOST.
Yeah WW allows him to move fast, but it’s not gonna get you across the map in time to push a weak tower, to save a tower, or to get to a weak ally in time. The port + ms is always necessary. Do you really think Clinkz needs the IAS from treads?
