Armadon is a very item dependent character. You need to be able to use quills to last hit and harass very well early game. Your early game laning will define whether Armadon is a success later on, since he needs a radiance + defensive items by 35 minutes, otherwise he`s just another random tank.
Well, I remember in DotA Bristleback could jungle very well even at level one, so you’d end up having about three solos instead of one. In HoN, however, he seems to not be able to jungle well until around level 5 or 6.
There is indeed a video of Bristleback jungling with just a bottle at level 1.

The video I saw used clever use of tangos and some other basic stuff, but I’m sure bottle works fine too. However, the video I’m referring too is old, and the introduction of the wolf pack with the attack speed aura has made that strategy risky (pulling 3 creeps packs at once with attack speed aura = dead Bristleback early game). How recent is the video you’re referring to?

I remember seeing the one you are referring to as well. Bristleback would eat trees to pull creeps out from north of their usual spawn point and stuff. It was pretty wild, imo.

EDIT: Can’t seem to find it, but yeah, he pretty much ate trees at the correct times and pulled something absurd like six packs of creeps at once. I tried to see how fast he got level six, but I can’t find the video; I believe it was something like level six in five minutes or so.

Armadon not being able to farm neuts at lvl 1 has to do with the neut creeps for the most part being a lot tougher than the neuts in DoTa. They need to nerf the neuts a bit. It’s even hard for a legionnaire, who is supposed to be Axe.
Axe laughs at neuts, but Lego has problems. Mainly because unlike Dota, which works on a “semi-random” system of procs, HoN’s random system is “true random”, so you really might get a bunch or get none. In Dota, it was impossible for you to get 0 procs on his spin thanks to the “que-randomness” of the system. (AKA you MUST proc a certain number of times)

As me or Desi could tell you, especially in regards to Galactic’s claims.
Since Jeebus most likely won’t say anything I’ll give a common run-down of my experience playing with me and DDC (which granted has been like 3 times, pretty small sample size)
- I pick a carry and DDC picks a support while all 3 times Galactic has picked another carry.
- Me and DDC do really well (e.g. 5-6 kills early game and continuing on this pace for the rest of the game with it spiking later) while Galactic kills maybe 2-3 and dies maybe 2-3 times.
- Depending on performance on rest of team (which is pretty varied, of course it is godlike with boel but with others it is a bit hazy) Galactic begins to nerdrage if perceived performance of our teammates is poor all the while Galactic’s second carry isn’t carrying.
- If me and DDC did well enough in the beginning we win and if the other team has better late game or better synergy, we lose during which Galactic has not been contributing and by this point no doubt raging.
Of course this is a really small sample of about three or four games, but it was enough for me at least (not sure about DDC) to have solidified opinion about the guy. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I doubt I am.

What is your name in HoN, anyway? I don’t remember playing with you at all. I don’t even think I’ve even played with Jeebus more than twice. And I don’t think I’ve ever played a game with that bolslaw guy…
And if I have played with you guys, it was VERY early in my HoN career, and I was probably trying to get a feel for the game. I used to play Dota with Popdogg and mkownsu all the time, they can vouch that I know how to play and I’m generally not a dick about things.
I apologize if you got a bad impression of me out of the 3 games or so you’ve played with me, I try generally to not be a baddie or a douche. But w/e, I’m just in it to have fun, let’s relax and just enjoy the game.

TBH, I can’t WAIT till they bring in all the mana-burners like KoTL and NA. INT chars in this game are a tad OP atm. Wait till all the defiler/thunderbringer players get a load of NA, lol.

There’s currently a petition on the HoN beta forums to bring Techies over as well.
There’s also a petition to keep Techies out of HoN completely.
I dunno, Techies is rarely if ever picked in competetive play, but he CAN be a fun character to play if you build him as a battle Techies or pair him with say, a Pebbles, Devourer or if they ever port over Vengeful Spirit.

It feels like this game has too many Int heroes already. NA is a stupid good ganker and is usually banned tier in competitive play (from what I hear), but hell, if they’re adding stupid heroes like Bane Elemental into the game, why not add another one like NA?
Even though there are too many Int heroes, I wouldn’t mind seeing Twin Headed Dragon and Necrolyte into the game. If Necrolyte was in the game he’d probably overtake Jereziah as the best support hero in the game. :lol: He’s such a damn good support character in DotA.

Techies is really annoying. Fun to play as, but never fun to play against. I hope they never add him into the game.
As far as competitive play goes, don’t most competitive matches use -RD? If that’s the case, Techies isn’t even programmed to be in the random draft pool, so that’d be a good reason you’d never see him in competitive play.
