Well Yawara is one of those series that fansubbers couldn’t stick to anyway, this goes back all the way to the 90s. I think it’s over a hundred episodes long but the furthest I’ve ever seen anyone sub it is like episode 37.
I assume that means the show just gets worse as it goes on, because I don’t see it being particularly difficult to translate.
Same here! Ended my first night with a 30-4! Too many scrubs out there!
My connection was not very good, so I was in yellow 80% of the time, which caused me 2 losses right at the beginning… But once you get used to the lag, the game is fun and playable.
haha, you did way better than I did, but my lag was pretty bad at times (I need to use wired instead of wireless) I think I’m at 20-21 right now, but holy shit I can’t break throws with the lag  I’m superfx on PSN, what’s your handle?
Yes, obviously, but Yawara didn’t have that kind of success. Meaning thank god it’s going to come out legit now.
If you’re a nerd and you’re into that sort of thing.
So I was looking for MB information because I’m bored and I was like maybe I’ll play Sion, and apparently she rapes the entire cast according to kubo? Her worst matchups were 6:4 in her favor. She has four eight to two matchups: Miyako, Aoko, White Len and Satsuki (;-;). This was as of July 9th 2007, so would that mean version B?
Sounds like the PC version is the way to go, god damn it, why can’t they ever get this fucking game right. I hate playing fighting games on the PC.
Yeah I know about Yaiba since it’s referenced a good deal in Detective Conan.
I bet Sion is crazy partially because she does so much damage. Ver B2 is probably a PC release because they want to tweak the game with patches for awhile like they did with Ver A/Final Tuned before they released it for ps2. Although the first few patches have changed nothing character wise, just fixed a few minor glitches and added dummy recording to training mode(I can finally practice some counterhit combos).
So I was just listening to the podcast, and supposedly there’s this new Yun combo some of the players were doing at Tougeki that does like 80-90% off of standing jab? KSK is calling it “keeperjin” because Keeper, the Ken player, invented it… I guess it goes something like:
jab short strong, Geneijin, low strong, (low forward, kara-cancel standing strong into fierce) x n?
I’ve been hit with Keeper-Jin before. It doesn’t really do 80-90%, I think if you’re crouching it might venture near 80%. The problem is when they stop early and do another mix up from it. Yun can gain a lot of meter back from some of these mix ups. I don’t know if it’s any more game breaking than genei-jin itself.
Sextaro and Pyro mentioned that too on the podcast, but they were acting like it was brand new. I guess the new thing is the specific setup for the combo and not the concept? Pretty cool anyway.
Anyway maybe it’s the Ibuki player in me talking but that doesn’t look much worse than any combo off of motherfucking jab into gamebreakjin.
Chris and I are playing Melty Blood in about an hour, if anyone wants to play that or anything else (since I have the two TVs set up now) get in touch.
