The History of ST at Evo

I’m a true primadonna of my custom Sanwa parts stick with 3rd Strike artwork and my SRK name on the front. I set my baby in my lap too. :lovin:

When AE was played @ Evo 06(I think?),who was the top 8 winners?

I think the Wolfe Bros got 1st and 2nd place (I think Graham won?? I was there but can’t remember). Then I think it was like Jason Wilson, Daigo, Afro Legends, Alex Valle, Tokido and a few other peepz round out the top 8.

The thing is, I am talking about the old days. Hell…I played against your Rog in B4…and was knocked out early…if 1998-ish can be considered the old days.

The scenario you’re talking about is what should have happened on paper. Maybe you were one of the few that actually properly prepared for these events. The primadonnas, unfortunately, have always been here in one form or another. It’s just that back then, the complaint was “this stick layout isn’t like {fill in region you flew in from}. The staff really fucked up on this one, the retards.”.

I was joking about your lap man. :wgrin:

playing new games on a console stick is not nearly as hard as playing old games on a console stick. uppercut motions and super motions are much more demanding imo for older games such as ST. newer games seem to make it easier to super to make the game more scrub friendly. clutch timing uppercuts and reversals on ST is very key to high level play and more severe or rougher joystick motions are needed imo when playing certain characters. if you grew up playing on arcade cabs with durable sticks then its a really rough transition. if you grew up playing on horis or mas sticks then you wont understand the argument. its quite simple, if you are delicate like a little princess you dont mind playing on console, if youre a REAL MAN, you need a big set up and want to be able to abuse the stick and do “manly uppercuts.”

MAAAANLYYYYYY!!!

Hard uppercuts OWN. Definitely one thing the new schoolers don’t get when it comes to high level play and “the heat of the moment”.

You should see poor Apoc when he tries to play console. I swear I see that stick fly!

No thugs at evo. Leave the defenseless controllers alone.
