Claire sort of reminds me of a character from the Rising Stars comic book mini-series.
There was this one guy in the book, who couldn’t be hurt, couldn’t feel any pain and was basically indestructible. However he got killed because someone put a bag over his head and cut off his oxygen supply.
Not too sure how Claire’s powers work, but if she requires oxygen like everyone else, then maybe the only way to kill her is to suffocate her. Just a thought.

I think claire (if she’s like wolverine or even more broken than that) could survive anything. Apparently recently in a comic Wolverine was completely incinerated such that there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING left except his adamantium skeleton and he regrew a whole new body complete with internal organs in a matter of minutes (because he popped up and pwned the guy who did it to him before the guy finished walking away.)

If the brother has power absorption without the Rogue-like effect of hurting the other party… that makes him more broken than even Hiro.
This show is gonna be hella pimp simply because all of them seem to be so overly broken, that they actually even each other out to a non-broken state.
claire kinda annoys me how she’s all pissed about having the powers…i mean, i respect the whole humble thing, but she seems all emo-ish about it…my fave character is niki…that chick is a beast cuz you know so little about her right now…i like the idea of slowly revealing her power…
Hmm, so Isaac Mendez is going to die if Hiro’s trip to the future comes through.
I noticed one thing though before the episode ended; the same gun that the “exterminator” had in the altercation with the professor looks exactly like the same gun that Hiro was carrying before the police held him up.
Which helps out the “Sylar doesn’t always work alone” theroy. Too bad Art Prophet couldn’t forsee his own death in Hiro Future.

…looking through the imdb entry of Heroes and there’s a guy credited as “Mystery Man” and he hasn’t appeared yet (aside from the black guy with phasing powers who also has yet to appear) also some more characters that have yet to show up.

claire is wolverine without the hurting effects…her healing powers are fucking off the scale. bitch went into the fire like it was nothing…got her fingers lopped off like it was nothing…clearly she has sum discomfort but it appears she doesnt really feel pain. i personally think next to hero thats a pretty broken power.
claire is probably the second most broken character simply because what happens to her, she doesn’t feel and it heals faster than shit. i think next episode is when some of them discover each other.
i noticed that shit about the gun also, i also question how that many police showed up when they did. the artist doesn’t seem the type to invoke that many cops showing up, even in distress. maybe his gf called them…i dunno…
I’m going to jump the gun here and assume that in Hiro Future Sylar has been killing a lot more people in a months time and that everyone knows about him now. I bet they had heard that he was after certain people and they were trying to catch up to him as soon as possible. So maybe Sylar and the crew killed even more heroes (And can we keep Hiro’s name Hiro so I don’t get confused) before he/they reached Isaac.
I personaly wouldnt put Claire in top tier. Sure she has awesome defence, but she currently has absolutly 0 offence. Shes almost useless unless she has to flip a switch or pull a lever in impossible physical conditions.
Also i dont think she would survive a nuke. Her rib diddnt even start healing until it was placed back in its normal general area. What makes her so specail though is that she can not only heal but Regerate cells as well. She cut off fingers and they frekin grew back!! I dont even think Wolverene can do that… I wonder if her torso was ripped off, would it grow back? and from which half? Assuming her powers are like Perfect Cell’s, she can only regenerate as long as a single brain cell is intact…which i believe would not happen in a nuke blast.

given the characters we know, her good defense makes her better than any of them, save hiro of course. one predicts the future when jacked up on junk, one reads minds and 2 brothers fly. hulk girl has an awesome offense, but she has no control over it, and her awesome offense would be trumped by claires defense. however, claires weakness is her emo-ish nature and her reluctance to use her powers. now, i’m not doubting more powerful people will appear, but she is still top tier given the choices at this moment…
edit: i think nikki’s son is also gifted in his kowledge…i think it is passed on in some way…i gues the question remains why they are all coming out at the same time…

Episode 2 was back and forth as well - the cheerleader stuff continued to be good, the flying stuff stupid, hiro great, until they did the whole “oh look, a gun on the floor beside a trail of blood, I think I will pick it up” shitck, but luckily they quickly redeemed themselves with the end of the episode which was great. So another week it is.
new ep tonight! i went back and watched episodes one and two again. i really like the show, i just hope they don’t start to cheese out too much…
