The bolded part doesn’t really makes sense, at least with respect to an actual death. It seems more like they planned to kill someone off and then decided not to, but the wording is rather confusing.
Even though it says “after this episode”, it could also be in reference to next season and not Meredith’s “death” in this episode. So it could be any number of women: Maya, Nikki, hell even Candice. (I would still like to think that Sylar killed an illusion, but whatever.)
Not that I’m annoyed that Meredith died–I like her character but she can’t make up for the entire show being disappointing; I’m mostly annoyed because Mohinder and Sylar still aren’t dead (well, for good, since Sylar’s “died” twice in this episode). I mean, if they can kill off Adam, D. L. and Arthur in horribly stupid ways, it’s rather obvious that neither of them is going to die permanently due to (delusional) fans that want to jump their bones through the screen.
P.S. Part of that article made me both laugh and realize how horrible Ando’s power is a show where people’s powers are already really high-level/overpowered:
