Is it just me or does Ippo not really seem like Ippo right now? He’s a lot more focused and serious than usual and he’s extremely confident in his power. It just feels out of character to me.
Awesome chapter though, just wish I didn’t feel like this is such a detached Ippo.
it’s just we haven’t seen this ippo since forever. he is imagining to fight miyata it’s no surprise he is so focused.
let’s see how long ippo can hold this concentration. he downed gedo in the first round as well until malcom put out his “tricks”. i expect something like that to happen with woli too.
I think its fine for his character. It feels like he’s growing into a real boxer, one worthy of all the titles he has. I don’t think he seems cocky just confident and ready for the fight. As was mentioned he also is trying to finally get Miyata out of his system (no homo) he realizes they probably can never fight and now he needs to refocus and aim for the top.
That down was pretty awesome. Im so happy we finally have an Ippo fight again.

Well that pic was from Mashiba’s comeback fight, which the anime is nowhere near close to showing anytime soon, that and I LOVED that page of him swinging his flicker…so I thought “I need this on my Hori!” and made it so :nunchuck:
Damn Ippo’s pinky is something else. Woli probably has some tricks but not enough to beat Ippo.
Seriously I hope this is how Ippo acts from now on, he’s too far into the game to be treading over himself like he did with Gedo, he should be very close or atleast in the home stretch to his true form showing.

I really loved the 1st part of that Mashiba/Sawa fight tho…the bullet/flicker exchanges were all sorts of DOPENESS, just beautiful technique.
