What an awesome chapter. Takamura’s vision of where he stands was quite inspiring, but we really know that he’s in a rush to get all 6 titles before Kamogawa croaks. Ippo seems more determined, but he still needs to cross that line to convince me.

Yea i was thinking it was Vorg myself, I looked it up Vorg is the IBF world champ, but not unified… yet. Junior Lightweight so maybe Aoki gonna get his frog on one day lol.

Takamura paints a great image for the boxers aspiring to be the greatest. But still, Ippo needs to learn how to cross that line Takamura drew in the ground. If anything, Ippo’s questioning shows how naive he still is when it comes to boxing.
The way I see it, Ippo has never had anything resembling a “do or die” mentality with his boxing - it’s always been him “wanting to do his best” or some iteration of that, which simply isn’t good enough, because “doing his best” does not equal winning. And he fixates on whoever his next opponent is, but never fixates on the big picture; the world title.
I do see Ippo winning his next match, or even next few matches because of his main character status; but if he doesn’t figure out where Takamura’s coming from…eh.
Coach def gonna have to die for Ippo to take “the next step”. Shit, he’s already coughing up blood and shit, only a matter of time.

Next chapter defo gonna have a few scenes of bitch ass Ippo followed by some elephant Ippo getting serious, then crossing that line. Then we can all have a deep breath then sigh a great relief.
