no thats not the point, he believes ippo is so beneath him that he looks past him. fighters generally take it 1 fight at a time, unless you dont consider your next opponent to be anything. he thinks ippo is an annoying gnat and so he didnt truly prepare for ippo.
My favorite fight Ippo fight so far is style when Ippo did Galactica Phantom on that guy.
Ah that makes sense. I thought Alf just walked in there unprepared and unknowing, but it does make sense he thinks ippo is just some scrub who beat low tier opponents.
I know we all agree that Alf just played into ippo’s game by going full retard but I still have hope he has some sort of method to his madness. The way he countered the Dempsey looked like he knew what he was doing.
From what Alf’s trainer and everyone else is saying, Alfredo isn’t so much countering the Dempsey Roll as much as he is activating Tanden Renki, saying “fuck blocking” and just trying to murder the kid.
