It’s like the Morikawa is just writing out the fight for a volume, and just cuts the fight into tiny chunks.
I think there’s a page missing or something. There’s no way it ended there.
I think that (spoiler) is related to what Date-san pointed out watching his fight videos: Alf fights like Ricardo, but there’s a nasty streak that permeates his style.
If Ippo wins, it will be less him winning a fight that he shouldn’t, and more Alfredo losing a fight he should have won because he got too angry.
EDIT: I just checked; the RAW for 1036 is only 12 pages. Wow what a cliffhanger.

Actually, I take back what I said. According to this, the new manga lasted five chapters. So unless he’s still working on it, I don’t know the reason for the short chapters.

Yeah, plot armor is about to come full force. Ippo should not win, but he will win and it will be off of some bs of epic proportions.
Just like with ch I036, I should have stopped reading at ch 1037 and waited for a chapter with a more substantial page count before reading ch 1038. neither 1036 or 1038 read like they end on a cliff hanger, rather they seem to end so abrupt you think they are missing a page. It’s kinda killing my hype…

I’m jonesing for a Ippo game and don’t have a wii, anyone played that PS2 game “Victorious Boxers 2: Fighting Spirit” or is there a newer Ippo game in the works? I was feeling that fan made one but doubt it will ever get a release and I don’t think there is anything for the last gen consoles…
Oddly enough, I played that PS2 game before I even knew what Ippo was, haha. It just got a good review somewhere and looked like fun, so I gave it a rent. I remember it being pretty fun, but that was years ago.
