Ippo has elephant penis, he could probably do Miyata and Kumi at the same time. I think Miyata is actually just a pain in the ass to the story now, Ippo is way ahead of him in everything and would probably kill him outright with his uppercuts at this point.

Having Miyata dick around in the background on a constant power level equal to Ippo is just plot stupidity. They should make him have some kind of accident so he cant box anymore and clear up Ippos path to the top, which is in like 2 fights.

This should be interesting. It depends on how the fight goes whether or not I believe Ippo can believably win. During that Woli fight (Sorry for bringing it up again) that nigga should not have won. Point. Blank. Period. Woli was on some “This is what a manga Floyd Mayweather would be exaggerated to” type shit.

Nothing has happened yet to where I believe Ippo should get fucked up. Now if he goes 6 or 7 rounds and he still hasn’t gotten past the left at ALL? Then I’d say, yeah he should lose. But at this point? Fuck foreshadowing until what was foreshadowed actually happens.

New chapters aside, I’m really looking forward to the new season. Looks like there’s a lot of matches to look forward to, and I’m glad they’ve included the Kamogawa flashback arc.

This is the best Manga. Who cares if the fights are stupid and crazy and make no sense, all the characters are so likeable that it doesn’t matter what happens during the manga filler AKA fights.

Miyata isn’t some slacker, it makes sense for him to still rival him since he actually tries to learn unlike “Always run in and block with my face” Ippo. He’s there to give you someone to compare Ippo to that won’t aggravate you like Itagaki seems to do for all of you.

Just watched the first episode of Hajime no Ippo: Rising.
I must say I’m as dissapointed as fuck, they skipped out so much shit that happened in the manga (and there was some hilarious shit) and went straight to the fight.

Maybe just because there’s bigger story arcs to get into? I mean, the Shimabukuro fight was not handled with nearly the same number of chapters as Sawamura’s arc. Any idea how many episodes the anime is running for this season? They still have to get to Takamura’s title fight, Aoki’s title fight and the backstory that comes with that, the WW2 flashback with Coach, etc.

Skip all the Kumi they want imo, he ain’t never gonna hit that. She’s basically a filler character now, she serves no purpose.
