Ippo is about to send this dudeās mouth piece into the 5th row and his liver into the 3rd. I actually hope this fight drags into the 6th-7th round, just to see Ippo tear him apart each round.
Does anyone else thinks that ippo should be able to weave better?
I mean, he trained alot to be able to weave into a dempsey roll and to dodge opp attacks while countering but we dont see that happening in the manga.
I would like to see ippo finish a fight without getting hit once while simply weaving and countering.

Anybody notice how this manga authorās artstyle has gotten progressively worse since he started? Iāve never seen an actual drop in quality in penciling from any other manga Iāve read but his. I remember when the characters had meat on their bones. Now they all look like extra light featherweights. Shitās disgusting. Thereās no more muscle tone in the abs, biceps, and calves. They all look puny and make me even question how they were delivering such hard fucking punches during the previous arcs.
Maybe itās because they were all way too jacked and muscular for the featherweight class in the first place? Thatād be my take on it, I remember the earlier chapters like ok no WAY this dude made weight lol.
Anyway this guy shouldnāt have talked that shit, he about to get loved tenderly. Except not.
I want Ippo to murder this guy in one hit. Since this guy is trying to do just that, itāll be sweet justice if Ippo separates this guyās jaw from his face in one punch. But honestly I think whatās gonna happen is Ippoās gonna tank this guyās punches and heās gonna be in shock that he sucks so much he canāt knock Ippo out like he thought he would and Ippo would then murder him.
I thought the problem with his weaving was that he has the Dempsey. IIRC the coach pointed out the flaw of a rhythmic unchanging mobius loop of hooks [or Dante jabbed the flaw home] and wanted to incorporate variable weaving, angled punches, and timing. I donāt think he has the trifecta yet though.
It would be awesome to see Ippo almost KO a fool in 1-3 hits at the start after a few impressive dodgesā¦ only we would need his jobber to prove the merit of his own fists [and ability to take a punch] prior to the match against someone with comparable dodging prowess to current Ippo.
BUT :mad: I donāt want Sendo to job to Ippoās jobber :sad:
Now this guyā¦ seems to know something about changing tactics mid fight, got some reach, and likely hits hard. I trust he only was digging to find someway [anyway] to piss off the champ so he would fight like a chump come happy fun ring time. He may have superior tactics that ippoās guts and technical skill canāt over come as he is.
Which of Ippoās fights was this guy watching? Ippo lands a punch, fight is done. When was the last time he got into a slug-fest?
I wouldnt be surprised if this guy had to cheat just to be on an even playing field with Ippo. 3 rounds of Ippo ripping him apart then heāll go for the low blow and change the rhythm for 2 rounds then Ippo unleashes the demon inside and sends him to the morgue.
wellā¦ if how he watches over the others of his gym, and his respect to the frog leeping champ he didnāt try to beat is an indicatorā¦ Heās not much different than that hammer guy except with potentially the experience to mach Ippo. If he does cheat, even Ippo will concede that heās pretty good without fighting dirty.
Iām looking forward to the match up, and just what mistake the others made when fighting Ippo.
It would be sweet if they finally made a match that was only 1 chapter. Bell rings, Ippo throws one punch, fight over. It would just go to show how someone even a weight class above could severely underestimate a world rankerās power. Besides, this guy couldnāt even generate Frog King level of success, how much of a threat could he possibly be to Ippo?

I would buy that, except Iāve already suspended my belief of boxers moving so fast, they leave multiple after images of themselves. Oh, and Knocking out Grizzly Bears. I see no reason to try to lend some realism to the characterās weight by drawing them with spindly little legs and bodies.
