It’s common knowledge that the best meatys are low recovery, good frame advantage normals that lead into most other option. In this case c.lp/c.lk, even c.mp. Like I said, they lead into further mixups, leave your opponent close, you’re able to OS with them (backdashes, etc), recover from most not-very-fast reversals, etc.
Active frames don’t play a big part, that’s just a bonus. At the end of the day, you won’t be doing real meatys as much when you conditioned them to block, so you’ll be leaving gaps to catch them while they were teching, etc.
Also, Guy (not just him, pretty much everyone) should be meatying by air (safe jumping) as much as possible (excluding in some cases).

i agree that while we don’t have attacks w/ lots of active frames to leave us at even more + on a meaty block, i still do meaty attacks quite a bit (with c.lp, c.lp+c.hk). if you watch kiryu, alot of his pressure starts from meaty attacks with c.lp at every opportunity he can get (unless he smells a reversal).

anyways… i think blooddrunk’s point was that we don’t have a normal like cody’s f.mp with lots of active frames to make for an above average meaty move, that’s all.

I never posted on the Guy forums (just lurking to see how well Guy is and thinking of using him.) What are some of guy’s frame traps and pressure moves, as well as some hit confirms? I’m new to this Guy forums so don’t bash on me for asking noob questions for a character I never use. Thanks.

Anyone ever find a “good” use for RH Tatsu? I call it the stuff machine, since I consistently get stuffed

Well it’s still good for juggle combos, I sometimes use it if someone throws a fireball and tries jumping in but even then it pretty much sucks.

I’ve seen this info posted somewhere in the Guy forums, I’ve searched and searched but couldn’t find it. X_x I’m hitting Balrog with the following combo: jump in HK >> cl. HK >> st. FP >> st. MP xx EX Hozanto. Who can Guy successfully execute this combo on? I’ve done it to Guy, Gouken and Balrog so I know those three, there’s got to be more though.

Do you mean AE? I know in Chocolate you can hit Zangief as well.

In Sprinkles (my name for AE) I can so far hit: Seth, Sagat, Guile, Deejay, Abel, Boxer, Zangief, T Hawk, Blanka

I think the combo fails on: All chicks, all shotos and the rest I havn’t had a chance to try it on.

I hope to God this Super=Chocolate thing doesn’t catch on.

I was watching the capcom ae vids and saw a blocked bushin flip elbow xx lk tatsu. Is that considered an option select or something else?

No, it’s just an educated (or risky, depending on how you look at it) guess. A lot of people are going to either crouch tech or attempt to throw you after a Bushin Flip elbow on block. LK BSK beats both of those options because of its lower body and throw invincibility on its start up frames.

I don’t think u can option select a tatsu off of a bushin flip elbow since it has slow recovery. however, you can option select after a normal command elbow (d+mp). I do it a lot

Having a hard time with, FF chain throw ender in the corner into st.strong, any secrets for this? (i plan to train more on it tonight but still figured id ask)

not really, i doubletap the st.mp. but i still miss it sometimes too. i had it pretty consistent after i practiced it for like 20 minutes though. i think dedicating some time to practice it once in a while is the best advice i have haha

Double tapping really helps with the corner reset stuff.I tried plinking the st.hp reset aswell,couldnt really tell if it helped out,but might aswell try it out.

and DT’ing is just two in rapid concession like Fake RH with Sagat, or a little slower?

has anyone found a consistent timing or spacing for the crossup jp.hk ive been trying to get it in training mode but im like 3 for 100 the timing seems really strict but i want to get it down because you land on the other side really ambiguously its weird.
