why is does guys range suck with landing his target combos? he’s never in range to start jabing and he loses in poke wars.
Can someone elaborate on situations where to use Guy’s cr.lp - target combo, i’m having this problem as well.
- About his qcf + p move. What can you follow it up with, i think i saw Ryan Hart follow up with cr. lp - target combo - lp shoulder. Not sure though, can anyone confirm.
- I see Daigo and Ryan using it after a block string for further pressure. What are some block strings I can use, then follow up with the qcf + p?
I think i found a easy method for guys to cross ppl up with maybe even set up a safe jump.NOT SURE but i havent tried it yet so don’t hate me lol.Hell probably most of you know bout it bye now but goin say it anyways for i can try to help add to this topic.I found out that 2clp and plinking the cmk setup for cross up haven’t expermented with the safe jump yet who know maybe some one else will. Just been tryin to learn his bnb well that my 2 cents sorry bout my bad grammer not the best spell ether.O yea it olny works on sertin cast member and have to do up close.

yea, after target combo (mp>hp) you can lp.shoulder and if you do it in the corner you can tack on an ex hurricane kick after shoulder.
in block strings its not as safe as it may seem. lp version is the safest since it comes out fast but normals moves can interupt the shoulder so careful how you use it.
im thinking in a block string after lp. shoulder you could cr.mp xxx lp.shoulder idk thought
lol, that shouldn’t be necessary. Any bit of testing will show that it has two hits of focus armor, just like Fuerte.
Does Guy’s cross up jumping mk only work on some characters? Or is it just a spacing issue on my behalf?
Is their a crouching normal that forces someone to stand and can be linked into some sort of combo like the Bushin chain?

Hey guys(see what i did there?) i just picked this dude up last night and he is really fun, but i don’t know where to start from, his st.rh seems pretty decent so atm i just spam that a lot but how exactly do i play guy, i know thats a very broad question so ill try to narrow it down, for example what are his really good pokes and whats a nice AA with him(cause his hurricane kick doesn’t have much range)
Just so people know, Guy’s f+mp overhead attack can be cancelled into hozanto! Hello mixups! Kara demon?! Who knows…
I believe his EX hurricane kick is a good AA, I think it has some frames of invincibility, but I’m not too sure on that. It’s a good wake up option though.

His ex tatsu is great, it beats out all kinds of crap like hawks condor dive and adons jaguar tooth. Also works as an AA although I don’t recommend using it on wake up (extremely punishable) or as an anti-crossup since people seem to magically avoid getting hit even though you can literally see guy’s foot going through their face
Aight guys thanks, i watched a couple guy videos and it seems his mp hp target combo is very important to his game so ill go learn that as well.
^^ yea it took me awhile to put that into his game. i was too busying trying to FF chain every jump in i did to my friend.

depends if you have meter or not, without meter i just use cr. lp cr. mp mk tatsu. with meter I usually use cr. lp bushin whatever ( 4 hit target ) ex hozanto. Most of his bigger combos are corner dependent so its a good idea to land ex hozanto as often as you can in combos.
