im almost postive j. d+mp has a much quicker recovery than bushin flip elbow
Noob question. Has anyone else seen the throw part of the bushin throw chain whiff? If you cross up someone, like ryu, then hit-confirm with two jabs and try to use the throw chain to put them back in the corner, sometimes guy will actually whiff the throw part completely and it looks like he whiffed a regular throw. Is there a way to avoid this besides taking a jab out of the hit-confirm? Because my reactions are pretty bad and I really need that extra jab to give me enough time to confirm. Thanks in advance!
not positive if itll work or not, but it seems to help in certain situations. you can try holding forward as you start the bushin chain, it might give you that extra pixel’s reach that you need, i know its helped me out before. honestly though, you dont need the 2 jabs to confirm. after the crossup j.mk, just go straight into the bushin chain and if you see that ist being blocked, just stop at the 3rd hit of the bushin chain, the st.hp. itll leave you at frame advantage. of course if you see that its connecting, follow through with the entire chain xx whatever you want. hope that helps
QUESTION:
Why do the Guys I keep fighting use FA constantly? I giggle my ass off as I destroy them, with MY Guy.
Someone explain this to me, am I out of the loop?
IDK… slide bait maybe?
only bad guys do this
Yes, Magneto is notorious for it.
I C WUT U DID THAR.
Also, anti-air I keep seeing c.MP, but don’t know how to apply it! So I just avoid having to use anti air, or burn eX-qcb+k
using focus attack isnt really something about guy per se…every character has one. its more a matter of the players preference
st. fk is a great anti air i’ve been using lately instead of cr. mp, at worst it gives you a favorable trade
This^^
yea i don’t know why st. rh isn’t used more often. at worst it does trade. i mostly just use it if some one jumps in from a good distance. if they’re on top of me then i go for ex hurricane. i think a lot of people are still looking for an anti air that they can use in all situations. and other than ex hurricane… guy doesn’t have that. from my experience. guy needs to use ALL of his tools… specials, normals…everything. in order to be effective. and… honestly… i like it that way.
Guy’s anti air’s are situational, but I use cr.MP,st.HK and Ninja sickle.Ninja Sickle works suprisingly well, although damage is minimal.
All can work well they are just situational. Also there are some things Guy can just not anti air well at all, like shoto J.HK.
the ninja sickle works as an anti-air? Can you follow up with an ex hozanto like you can if the opponent is grounded?
seems like ninja sickle would be far too slow to be a consistent anti-air
After an anti-air Ninja Sickle, you can juggle the opponent with BSK. HK BSK is probably the most reliable (excluding EX), though MK would do more damage (not sure if it juggles though!). EX will still do more damage though, I believe.
For anti-air I normally use st.HK and I have varying success with cr.MP. If they’re right above your head though, I’m not sure what you would use!
I’ve also had problems anti-airing Akuma’s Demon Flip~Dive Kick on wake up. I’ve had a couple of instances where EX BSK just completely misses (as in Akuma was too high for the first kick, then too low for the rest); quite frustrating!
If you got trouble to AA with a EX BSK you might as well try the HK one. There’s a good chance that you’ll trade but it’s better than being hit.
As a matter of fact even if it trade a lot, there are a lot of situation where it’s handy. If you know you’re opponent is gonna jump back to avoid a grab, you can use it to knock him down.
Only with Guy!
Only with Guy, when I try to punish using his U1 do I end up doing an EX special instead, and sometimes lose a match because of it! I’m not retarded, I’m not a scrub, I’LL KICK YOUR ASS! BUT why the hell is this happening?! D:
For this reason I’ve literally abandoned U1 completely, saving U2 for when people think they’re gaining and upperhand on me, and surprise them on wake. (Or a feint jump, which I don’t suggest anyone tries, just my style allows for such recklessness)
Guy seems to have really bad pokes. The only decent one is Standing Medium Kick. Anybody use anything else?
cr Hp, I use that in blockstrings and sometimes on the opponents wake up, Cr Hk is a good one if you space it properly so its safe, his overhead is good because if you is going to try and tap you out of it, you can buffer a Lk/Mk tatsu or EX if you are close enough.
