ex flash kick
Yea I was so relieved that his US voice is actually good… plus dat cussing when he whiffs a throw. ‘Shit!’
Jump ins have better hitboxes. Its not the boom itself, that is actually better(after startup)
Figured as much.
This. I think the only Sonic Boom that’s really good for punishing jump ins is EX or his Super Art, huh?
so the highest meterless damage that I’ve found with Guile is:
(corner) j.hk > udk > cl.hp xx lp sb > ghk > cr.mp > cr.mp > cr.mp xx lk fk - 9hits/441dmg/20%scaling
and with full meter:
(corner) j.hk > udk > cl.hp xx ex sb > cr.lp > cr.mp xx sh - 13hits/525dmg/39%scaling
has anyone found more damaging combos?
(tested on Ryu)

I’d stick with super only on jumpins
The japanese mooks which the SF4 frame data is based on listed the “recovery” strange. They put the total frames of animation as the “recovery”. In reality guile’s SB had 20 frames of recovery in SF4(ryu’s had 32 frames,etc.). The brady guide doesn’t do this it seems. They list the recovery as the actual recovery. So in reality, in SF4, guile’s total frames for a SB was 29f. In SFxT his total frames for SB is 33f. It’s 4 frames slower in SFxT and this is definitely noticable. This is why he was complaining about SB being more punishable. The animation is quite a bit slower.
so i just used auto tech vs a rufus player and got a load of messages about how i should stop using it because it’s totally cheap. hmmm - a rufus player - complaining about using something totally cheap. lol.
and yes, auto tech is very good vs rufus.
Good to know, I was reading them the same.
If its in the game, its fair play. This is what I mean by my sig, hate when people try and have you play how THEY want. lol. …Yea Im gonna play a FIGHTING GAME how you prefer when I am fighting you…riiiiggghhtt…and I know Taekwondo …meet me in the alley to fight, but no punching or wrestling allowed.:looney:
the best part was, i turned it off and beat him every game until he left the room anyways. then he messaged me saying i couldn’t beat him without guile, completely forgetting the fact i’d already beaten him with my ryu/heihachi team.
rufus is so dumb in this game that i feel no guilt about using auto tech at all. having said that, i do agree that auto tech is a cheap gem and should cost a bar rather than half a bar. 2 bars would be too severe though imo.
Sounds like a typical live crybaby.
I always thought “cheap” is an opinion, the game is meant to be played as it is made, until and unless the makers change it, have at it!
Idea:
Easy gems with Guile .
No-charge frame perfect moves sound good to me.
ive been playing guile alot but suck badly when it comes to fireball wars. i usually pick characters without projectiles and would like to get good with one this time. any tips would be great
learn to pre charge booms. instead of doing sonic boom as (b,f + p) do (b,f,b + p). this gives you a head start on your next sonic boom charge. just remember that you cab only have one on the screen at a time and not try to shoot off another before the one on the screen has been blocked or has travelled out of sight.
also learn the spacing at which it is unsafe to throw sonic boom. I would say roughly half a screen or less away isn’t a guaranteed safe sonic boom unless it’s cancelled off a normal like cr.mp.
learn the distance at which you can use spinning back knuckle to counter matched fireballs.
lastly learn to use the super charge in this game. knowing when you have enough time tto get a free ex boom off safely is priceless in fb wars. have the training dummy set to ryu and spam fireballs to get a little practice.
that’s my two cents.

Nice one! thanks for the info, will definitely learn to pre charge my booms
I’ve been playing around with Guile in training mode and I’d have to believe that it’s the most damaging combo. I couldn’t get cl.hp out vs Asuka though. Much more easier and just 6 damage less with j.hk > cl.hp xx ex sb > s.mp > cl.hp xx super.
Gonna say it again, if easy gems remove the charge for guiles moves I suggest you use them. Bewmin while walking forward.
Or do they even work like that for guile?
I DON’T OWN THE GAME.
Therefore I can’t go test this or know anything about easy gems with charge characters, but if they do anything like eo groove did to chargers in CvS2 I would suggest using and abusing them. This isn’t because I’m a scrub who can’t shot teh sawnik bewmz but because it would open up doors for Guile.
I can’t believe how brainless they made rufus divekicks in sfxtk. any tips for Guile put under dk spam? I don’t remember having this much trouble with it in sfiv
@ above, I think assist gems are banned

Jump back fierce is good for high dive kicks. I need to play the matchup more myself before I give advice, but maybe you could ask in the SF4 guile forums? The matchup doesnt look like its changed much in terms of what moves to use and the spacing of said moves.
