The Greatest Lies in Gaming History

megaman dlc mvc3

I hold hope for that one happening in the future, but not much hope.

-Starhammer-

Before my cousins got the internet they were claiming that there was a Playsyaion 3 “in japan already”

This had to be around 02-03

omfg I tried that like a billion times when I read about it, trying to get Mew. Then I got lucky and won some Toys R Us scratch and win and won a legit Mew, which I still have on my Yellow

anywho, I am saddened that NONE OF THIS HAS BEEN MENTIONED

Shawn attacks and Kano transformations pissed me off to no end :frowning:

and just because it was pretty much one of the reasons I bought the X-Box, I’m gonna add in BC and True Fantasy Online

lol. Reminds me when the PS3 launched in the US. A guy we worked with was bragging to a friend and I that he bought a Japanese one ages ago and sold it on the Internet for $5,000 and invested it in stocks. As soon as he walked away I told my friend he was full of shit, because the US and Japanese PS3’s were released within a week of each other.

tmnt 2: the arcade game (nes)

I was less than 10 years old. I didn’t have much of an idea about the technical limitations of the NES compared to the arcade, but I was somewhat skeptical the NES could handle the port. However, I was a kid and it was titled “The ARCADE game”. I still believed a miracle was possible and still had high hopes to play the arcade game I enjoyed, probably because of the little available coverage in magazine previews building the NES version up with exaggeration. I waited what seemed like a year and finally got the game on Christmas (parents saved it for my last gift…it was hidden in my TMNT suitcase I didn’t fully open before). One of my biggest video game dissapointments ever, leaps and bounds above SF2 for SNES. The coupon for the free Pizza Hut personal pan pizza would have been a nice consolation, had I not been beasting Book It at the time.

what a bunch of noobs, al bundy wasn’t a secret character

he’s unlocked from the beginning

Shit. Now I can’t unsee that! xD

haha, I was in the same boat on the TMNT issue. This shows how gullible some little kids are… I also believed it might actually be “just like the arcade game!” simply because Nintendo Power was hyping it up so much and it was titled “TMNT: The Arcade Game”. Right off the bat the graphics hit you… "awwww man… this isn’t on par with the arcade…". Then you notice the lack of animation, the fact that it was limited to 2 players… characters being generally smaller than they were on the arcade screen (especially noticeable when you fight Krang)
Another one:
*Champions Online coming out on Xbox 360.

-Final Fantasy 6 game for the Ultra 64.
-FX Fighter for the SNES.
-Star Fox 2 for the SNES.
-Super Mario 2 was NOT a real Mario game.
-Eternal Champions for Saturn.
-The blank box that suppose to hold Norimaru in the NA version of Marvel vs Street Fighter.

and of course…

Ono saying he was going to remove the Shoryuken Shortcut for SSF4…

LIES!!!

don’t forget that some bosses were either cut out or change.

Oblivion lol.

Don’t get me wrong, oblivion was a good game, but goddamn that e3 demo was such bullshit. This is why i have my reservations about skyrim; i will wait til the game comes out and not rely on the e3 presentation.

tmnt2 on the nes was a decent beat em up. so what if it didn’t have arcade quality graphics, it had excellent graphics compared to the original tmnt

Street fighter coming to the nintendo 64. I read in some video game magazines that street fighter 3 would end up on the n64. After waiting years I realised street fighter was never coming to the n64 and ended up buying Fighters Destiny. n64 had some bad fighting games

Pokemon Jade (telefang bootleg)

Sapsaur and Charcolt in Pokemon red/blue

but the nes tmnt2 added two stages suck on that i got to fight polar bears and dumb samurai

lol, and you had to wait like half an hour to get that “not the end” message. So saddened that Chakan 2 ended up becoming Blood Omen 2

Sheng Long

got damn, how did that become the Oblivion I played?

One of my friends told me there was a “Mist Stone” hidden in the Seafoam Islands that you could use to evolve Mewtwo into Mewthree in Red/Blue/Yellow.

lol

lol

“I said Mommy is reading!”

God, i rolled my eyes when I saw that. Todd Howard is low key on the same wavelength as Peter Molyneux lol
