I’ll add some more if I think about but those are pretty much the greatest comics of all time. You could argue if you want but you’ll just be wrong.
I think you should add a rule where if someone doesn’t like what you like, to not be a flaming a-hole and be polite in that, or better yet, just STFU.

Actually the Marvel and DC ones are off the top of my head, as there are others I fully enjoyed and will post them later.
Tizoc - This is SRK afterall so it’s hard for me to pass a rule like that. Fairly sure most of us have had our online sensitivity meters broken long ago when we were ‘New Members…’ :wonder:
I’ve already stressed in the rules that people should treat people how they wish to be treated, even if some people do not.
At best all I can say if someone doesn’t like something you like, well that’s just life. Step back a bit and realize that no one is attacking something you wrote or worked on, just something you like and they do not. And if you enjoy something it really shouldn’t matter to you what anyone else thinks.
And knowing is half the battle! G. I. JOOOOOOOOOOE!
^Coolio, bossman, and speaking of G. I. Joe-

Oh and I kindly recommend reading some of the series I mentioned, especially The Sword.
Of course. How could I forget Chris Claremont’s legendary run on Uncanny X-Men?
Particularly issues 129-137 (Dark Phoenix), 141-142 (Days of Future Past), and the best run of all 162-213. Comic Book Heaven.
And I almost forgot about the greatest X-Men storyline ever which is The Age of Apocalypse. Only the old stuff. If it was made after 95 then it’s crap.
Runaways vol 1-2 is great stuff.
Astonishing X-Men (Whedon) of course.
Route 666 was a good read.
Fray.
Both Death minis.
Sandman.
The Dreaming from issue 28 or so on to the end.
Marz’ Witchblade.
Nextwave.
Ultimate Spider-Man.
Dynamo 5.
Midnight Nation.
Amazing Spider-Man - Lee/Ditko, Lee/Romita Sr., Roger Stern, Peter David, Early Michelinie, some of JMS’ run
Kraven’s Last Hunt
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Uncanny X-Men - Early Claremont, some of the Lobdell stuff

Yeah and he referenced the old Segar comic strips, lol I thought I was the only one that knew about them! Popeye in the original comic strip is really different from the cartoons. Fantagraphics has been re-releasing the old comic strips, they have up to 3 books out now.
PAD brung up old things like Ham Gravy who was Olive Oyl’s old boyfriend and Sea Hag being in love with Wimpy, a lot stuff only found in the Strip! He even went into the Whiffle Hen giving Popeye his involnurability (Spinach was not a huge factor in the strip, he was just freakishly strong, could survive bullet wounds and lots of craziness) and if you go back and read the strips it made perfect sense!
That’s what PAD’s my favorite writer. He can do a comic book about Cocoa Puffs and he will go out of his way to watch every single Cocoa Puffs comercials ever made and reference them even if only 2 people will get it. PAD rules!
As long as we’re at this, what are people’s opinions on Spider-Man: Blue? I’ve seen it around, and Loeb/Sale is easily my favourite comic book team, so I keep feeling like I should check it out, but I haven’t heard much about it at all.
It’s really good! Loeb’s a bit of a crybaby because of Gwen, it was written because he said “Oh nos the Spider-Man movie came out and no one is going to know who Gwen oh nos…” He still wants her to come back to life. :looney: Despite his own agenda it’s a really good read. Nice 60s feel to it and a recap of a lot of old issues if you just want the cliff notes on their relationship.
A funny tidbit is that in it, Peter and Gwen have sex. When JMS wrote wrote in the Goblin kids in ASM, he originally wanted to make them Peter and Gwen’s children hyper aged from the past. JQ didn’t want that to happen, so not only did he make them Gwen and Norman’s kids, he had Peter Parker tell Mary Jane he never had sex with Gwen, thus retconning Spider-Man Blue out of existence. Poor Loeb…
JQ is against Peter Parker having Pre-Marital sex. And now he was never married… 40 Year Old Virgin it is. Well I’m sure he still slept with Black Cat and MJ since even in BND land he still lived with them. Betty Brant while she was married too IMHO, but that one is left up to interpretation. 70s comic that had to be vague about it, but the author tried to imply that’s what happened as best as he could given the timeframe. Course I’m sure Marvel doesn’t want Spidey sleeping with married women in the long run.
