Can somebody convince me to buy Granblue? I like all the gameplay elements that I’m hearing about, I just can’t seem to get over the look of the game.

The entire game is new. It’s odd to see a brand new game have DLC character saturation.
The game looks gorgeous tbh. Great animations and color use.
The anime aesthetic is bland AF, I agree there. I’m just too busy making dudes run into my rapier to give a single flying fuck. Game’s too much fun and Kat’s too great.

It’s a little funky with this game though due to the staggered release. Anyone who jumped on the JP release is at least a little more ready for new chars. Though I do agree that having new character shiny syndrome even a month into a game’s lifecycle is weird.
Also I’m not sure how much innate appeal Bubz has but Nara was probably always going to be a char people flocked to ASAP due to katana + titties.

Unfortunately, I won’t be anywhere near good enough to play this weekend. I still haven’t even really settled on a team yet.
However, I did watch some good videos last night that taught me some mechanics the game doesn’t tell you, and feel I have a better grasp on how the game works than before. I still need to apply them though and learn some decent combos other than the Magic Series.

What parts are you worried about? Cause if it’s figuring out neutral and defense, you’re only really gonna learn by playing against other people.
My tryhard team is Dante/Monster Hunter but I still play Chun-Li/Captain Marvel at times. If I want to piss off my friends I play Rocket (“Rat” from this point forward) / Haggar.

You’re probably right above neutral and things, that will take real matches to learn.
My main thing I want to improve is picking a team and getting some good combos, even if it’s just one with each character.
It doesn’t have to be a TOD or anything like that, but doing more than 12 hits without a super would be nice lol.
I also want to be somewhat competitive. I don’t know how much fun you’ll have if I’m just a glorified dummy… then again, messing around in training mode in this game itself is a lot of fun haha
