P4A had some anime things, but it was overall just fun. It didn’t get to the silly extent Tag does, but it was just a game that you could sink your teeth into and play for hours.
You wanna know how good it feels to play it?
I played it for countless hours. Me. I played on Ranked back when the game was dying and I had to wait several minutes between matches.
I got out of the first rank.
Clearly a 10/10 game. No other FG has this power.
The sequel however…

Edit: PC to PS4 is basically unplayable.

Yeah, even before the netcode downgrade, I was sticking to PS4 only and had better connections after… Definitely not attempting that now.

I mean, it was always obvious. I can tell from experience that playing literally the same person on both PC and PS4 yield different and much worse results.
And the PC player is usually the one getting shafted.
The connections are trash today for some reason. I was getting better connections in Granblue lol.
I can’t even view replays. Think something is going on with CFN.

It was playable before but now its the biggest hit or miss thing. People who I could play no problem are a mess now.
This game just doesn’t function anymore. I can chill in Casual games and wait a god 10 minutes between games looking for 4-5. Problem is 4 bars has hella skips. I’ve had more stable connections with 2 bar people in BBTag than this shit.
Then because this nonsense is onesided often, who even knows wtf is really going on in the games.

Honestly, FGs need to implement a wifi filter.
After that who even knows. It cant be that random SNK games have better netcode than modern games with real budgets. The altimor patch may have been good, but there’s no way his few changes were the only things wrong with SF5.
The really weird is still how hard it is to get matched up. Either everybody is on ranked or not a lot of people are playing. Even looking for battle lounges is weird. There are more international flags than US ones constantly. Think the flag I’ve seen have the most lounges up is Japan.
Too bad we dont have a steamchartz equivalent for PS4. I’m really curious as to what the active player count is like for the game.

First and foremost, we need developers to have some integrity when it comes to netcode. Pretending it’s not achievable or that their ‘in house netcode’ is the next best thing simply isn’t true. Code Mystics, GGPO, KI, etc. have proven that good netcode isn’t some fucking unicorn.
Once we have good netcode then we can start to talk about crossplay and other issues like how do we display connections. Viewing connections as bars is really wack and I would really like to see developers just move to ping display.
