Here we go people. Why I don’t think Smash is a fighting game.
Note that I don’t give a reason in the doc, just the story that led me to the decision. I love the FGC, but I cannot afford to be seen associating with people like this. Moreover, the very points that the monkey brought up provoked self-reflection on my very definition on what constitutes a fighting game. It is, as a result of the self reflection, that I have come to the conclusion that Smash sux and cannot be considered an FG. Too much bullshit, and too little reasoning.

Idk what changed, but Xrd seems way simpler than I remember it being when I first tried it a year or two ago. The combos no longer feel impossible and I have a much better grasp on what everything does now.
I’m sure I’ll still get roflstomped the second I step online tho.

I never got the hang of XRD. I don’t know what it was, but everything from the general movement to the frame data felt so…off? It’s hard to put a finger on it.
I didn’t experience that kind of issue with mainline Blazblues or any of the SFs, but I did feel it with FighterZ. Might just be the team red engine

When I tried BB the other day it felt kind of off to me so I passed on buying CF.
I’m still basically just a SF player so these air dashers are still a huge learning curve for me.

Awww but CF is so good! Ngl, to me it initially felt stiffer than CP, CS and CT. Once you get the hang of it, though, it feels so nice!
DBZ is indeed trash. I thought TAG was too yolo, anti-neutral and offense-favored, but then I played DBFZ. And now TAG is suddenly fun to me

But like, in terms of hot takes, this is lukewarm. Standard-fare Smasher shit. Hell, I constantly see spicier takes in this thread.
That “SFV looks like trash” thread legit had worse takes than this. 
Now that you’re used to GG, it might be a tad easier for you to adjust to BB gameplay-wise.
Sadly, many people miscaraterize GG as something extremely hard to play, both fans/players and outsiders.
Is not without its complexity, but i think that by approaching it right is not as difficult to get into as any other game.

In my exasperation’s defence, where I came from and the Smash scene I culminated, all the players looked to other games with respect. So when I come to America and get into American discussions about American eSports, I start to worry that I won’t fit in. Turns out, I do. That doesn’t take away from the shock I get when I hear shit like this, though. I’m just glad I avoid this nonsense online. Seems like at this point, I’d be a bit more desensitised, but thankfully, I’m not. Yet…

This character is silly. I’m scooping people from a third of the screen away, and do 60% damage without trying from a halfscreen low. Shit, c.MK CANCELLED into command grab is a tick throw setup because the grab is so slow and has such stupid range.
If it’s still on sale I’ll buy it later today

blazblue is weird, thanks to xrd’s RC changes it ended up feeling faster than GG but for some reason it still doesnt sit well with me, probably all the systems they added that i never got used to post continuum shift
