Murdering close M stagger pressure across the board (except for Lance who still has his rekka motherfuckery <.<), and I suspect a lot of combo routes also got butchered.

That really depends on how big the nerfs to their close normals actually turn out to be. Attacking with Kat is definitely gonna be a lot harder now. Which might still be fine, I just REALLY would have preferred if they nerfed her idiotic corner damage instead (which didn’t get touched wtf)

Nah, they adjusted a few damage values slightly but damage as a whole was largely untouched.
For example Kat got a 200 damage nerf on M lunge, which in practice only means she’ll go from 2600 to 2400 on DP punishes. It’s completely inconsequential.
So L Battalions o’ Fear got a damage increase. Nice since it’s the easiest to combo into.
2M sweep got more recovery, but now “moves him forward” a bit while he does it so I’m guessing it’ll be both easier to link and to use in juggles. Noice. We take those.
Not being able to constantly pressure with cl.M will at least prevent gran and kat from getting huge damage as frequently now. Thought they might have got rid of their wall bounce specials but doesnt seem to be the case
Yeah, but I don’t think the problem with either of those two ever was having basic but solid offense. Kat in particular had no business doing 6k+ if she clipped you with a 5H while you were cornered, so I was hoping they’d just give her damage proration on her EX moves. She can still do that, which is pretty stupid for a neutral focused control character.
What they did was removing options, essentially. At least for pressure, which sounds really limited now, and probably for combos too. Again, I’ll have to test, but this sounds like it’ll make a lot of characters less fun.
I don’t mind if the moves are still plus on block like narmaya’s 2m but dont naturally combo. Wont be as brain dead and can still confirm counter hit combos
Well, the cl.Ms are probably either +1 or 0 on block now, and none of them are gonna combo on normal hit.
Kat also got proximity nerfs on cl.M which means she’ll have issues with stopping people from pressing after cl.M since her light attacks have pretty shitty range.
Honestly, I hoped they’d take the route of buffing Narmayas offense rather than nerfing everyone else if they wanted to nornalize things.
Yea sounds exactly like narmaya. I had a feeling that’s the route they were going to take the pressure game. Wasnt sure if they were going to nerf or buff the pressure game.
I will say that it makes you have to think about your blockstrings a bit more instead of running in and staggering cl.m all day, but I also don’t really like weak pressure. We’ll see I guess
