It’s even worse when you can choose your user name in games.

Can’t tell how many (insert female character’s name) pits I fought in Granblue.

Just out of curiosity, was your venue an eSports/gaming cafe type of venue?

I kinda got bomb loops

Gaming bar / gaming event venue. The sort of place people do birthday parties, teambuilding and the like.

It’s not really unexpected, the venue is somewhat outside of down town and wasn’t really doing amazingly (granted, they weren’t in problems either). They also recently opened a venue a lot closer to central Oslo, which fortunately still hasn’t closed yet. Better location, and they were specifically headhunted by the owners of that location to open a bar there, so I assume they’re getting some fairly good terms.
Unfortunately, that new place is way too small and the rooms are too disconnected for tournaments, so even when gathering restrictions get lifted we won’t be able to run our bigger events. On the plus side, if the new venue survives, we can still probably run bi-weekly casuals there which are still our most important events. And it’s a 5 minute walk from my apartment which is always nice.

Thats a basic argument.

I used to work in the fashion industry for years. Worked in a photo studio with about 70% homosexuals. I got to be good friends and could talk shit etc. They used to refer to each other using the F word and it got to the stage if they said something crazy gay i could call em out on it using the F word. It was all in good faith, was funny and was all because of the trust and rapport we had established.

I have NEVER said that shit on Twitter or Facebook Cuz you’ll get dragged over the coals. Just because one group are cool with you saying this shit doesnt mean all people will be. Just because some people dont associate that word with hatred doesnt mean others wont.

You need to be smarter than that. Keep it behind closed doors and a mile away from social media.

That’s good to hear at least. I live in a medium sized city and we have been bouncing between Bubble Tea cafes, university campus rooms, and downtown bars. (On weekdays, of course.)

The venue we have had since 2017 is a bit of a dive bar in a rough part of downtown, but the owners have been really great to us. Not charging venue fee, running food and drink specials for us, letting us store equipment in their locked storage areas. I’m just hoping they can stay afloat during all of this since they have been shut down since the beginning(?) of March.
