Just finished the demo and what a treat it was. Really mind blowing and I didn’t expect to enjoy the new combat system.
The games i got vs people in Aus were great. Trouble was it had no filter at launch and i was getting global matches.
I’ve just discovered Australia has a pretty active Street Fighter Alpha discord. People are apparently getting into the game more and more over here. Mainly Fightcade but some on 30th. I might grind that or try to get some Hyper/ST games for a while for my SF fix.
5 is too frustrating atm.
A random memory just came up.
A few months ago, we were babysitting our niece (11) and nephew (7), and when we were choosing which videogame to play, our nephew saw the cover of MVCI, and despite all of the Avengers on the cover (who he loves), he wanted to play the game to play as Ryu.
He never played a Street Fighter game before, but recognized Ryu and wanted to throw fireballs with him.
Really shocked me at the time.
Edit… Perhaps he thought it was Smash
Yes, now that is what I like to see.

I see cool shit from time to time on there and end up forgetting about it.
So, because I’m home sick and feel like crap, I decided to take a break from work and play that FF7 demo.
Honestly, I’m kinda underwhelmed. Unlike the RE2 remake which has the quality of feeling exaclty like you remember it, this… really doesn’t feel like final fantasy 7. It looks like final fantasy 7 (and it has a small obsession with duplicating FF7 shots), but that is about it.
That said, it is very pretty, and it introduces some new plot angles which may be interesting to se play out… 30 years from now when this stupid project is finished.
I also wonder what it would be like if you played it without the nostalgia, I kinda think the game would come off worse without the legacy backing it up.
Remember that whit SFV and MVCi failing other Fighting games thrived, so maybe Capcom FG division sucking is not that bad of a thing.
inb4 SFV didn’t fail
This is why I really want to play that game.(besides the gameplay looking sick.)
I’ve never played a FF game before, so the nostalgia will be lost on me. I wanna see if this game holds up on its own.
DBFZ would have always done well i think. Same with Tekken.
UNIST might have snagged a few people though i reckon.
Not that it wasnt gaining traction already and a great game to boot.
The hell is going on here?
They added a benchmark app for the Intel World Open to see if your PC can run SFV.
I’m a console pleb.
Does this check basic specs to see if you can run the game or is it checking for lag/latency issues?
It checks the PC specks to see if it can run the game.
It should be an in game tool so we can filter potato PCs out of ranked too.
After years of humming and hawing, I finally bought the MVCI DLC.
I’m glad I did because Venom looks sick. I didn’t have too much time to play him, but I loved how much he reminded me of his MVC2 version (though definitely with some changes to separate him from Spider-Man a bit more).
Reminds me when UMvC3 came out and my little sister wanted to play. She picked Nemesis because she thought “he looked so cute” and called him Nemmy.
I just played a set vs the best Devil Jin player in Norway, and the set ended 8-5 in my favor. It was on a stage that’s really bad for Leo no less, so I didn’t even get to rob him with her stupid wall mixups. I just played better than him today.
Damn I feel good now.
Calm down, Rollback uses delay too!!!
The DLC characters were decent so bad it came late. The initial roster were the frustrating one to the many.
